The show is, of course, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
When human, Spike used to be a poet, and a "bloody bad one" at that, which earned him the derisive nickname "William the Bloody." Once he was changed into a vampire by Drusilla, that nickname took on a whole new meaning.
Spike and Drusilla were introduced in season 2 as the main antagonists of the season, but Spike later returned to Sunnydale broken and disillusioned after Drusilla had left him. He was later subjected to an experiment that prevented him from hurting humans, so he took up demon hunting and gradually became Buffy's ally and, eventually, lover.

In chronological order, the movies include: "Manhunter" (which was later remade as "Red Dragon"), "The Silence of the Lambs," Hannibal," "Red Dragon" (a remake of "Manhunter," this time also starring Anthony Hopkins), and "Hannibal Rising," a prequel detailing his childhood and adolescence. The TV show "Hannibal" details the events between "Hannibal Rising" and "Red Dragon."
