Luke Skywalker is the protagonist of the original "Star Wars" trilogy ("A New Hope", "The Empire Strikes Back", "Return of the Jedi"). The Jedi masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, his mentors are. Darth Vader is the main antagonist of the original trilogy, with the prequel trilogy ("The Phantom Menace", "Attack of the Clones", "Revenge of the Sith") showing his descent to the dark side. Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and his first appearance was in "Action Comics #1" (1938). He is considered the archetypal superhero, who will always do what's right, even if it means saving the life of his enemies. Even among superheroes, Superman is a regular powerhouse, with his superhuman strength and speed, as well as flight and seeming invulnerability being only the most basic of his powers.

His nemesis Lex Luthor, on the other hand, is a human with no superpowers. Luthor is not without his own strengths however, and is often portrayed as a genius with technological affiliations, suffering from extreme megalomania.

He made his debut in "Action Comics #23", almost two years after Superman's first appearance.

Cloud Strife is the protagonist of "Final Fantasy VII" (1997). In the beginning of the game, he thinks he is a former member of SOLDIER First Class, the elite forces of the Shinra Company. Later it is revealed that he actually was a lowly member of the Shinra forces who didn't make it into SOLDIER, and that his false memories came from his own embarrassment and his manipulation by Sephiroth, the villain of "Final Fantasy VII". Sephiroth, unlike Cloud, used to be a renowned member of SOLDIER. While he was still unborn, he was infused with the cells of Jenova (an ancient life form) as part of an experiment by Shinra. Sephiroth found out about it, and in typical supervillain fashion, he decided to transform into a god and take over the world. He is one of the most famous video game characters of all time, and frequently appears in lists of the best video game villains.

Answer: Green Goblin

Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, is a character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. His first appearance was in "Amazing Fantasy #15" (1962), but a year later Spidey got his own comic series, "The Amazing Spider-Man". Green Goblin first appeared in "The Amazing Spider-Man #14" (1964), after several of Spider-Man's other enemies (e.g. Chameleon, Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Sandman) had already been introduced. Several fictional characters took up the role of Green Goblin, but the one most associated with it is Norman Osborn, the original Green Goblin.

Although Spider-Man has several notable adversaries, Green Goblin is the one who managed the biggest blow to him in "The Amazing Spider-Man #121" (1973), when Peter Parker's girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, is killed.

Frodo Baggins is one the main characters of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Unlike most protagonists, Frodo does not engage in many battle, nor is he an expert fighter. His duty throughout the series is to reach Mount Doom in Mordor and destroy the One Ring, the main source of Sauron's power. Sauron is the antagonist of the series, and though he doesn't have a physical manifestation at the timeline the "Lord of the Rings" books are set in, he is still the most powerful being in Middle-Earth.

He is also called on occasion the 'Dark Lord', even though that title originally went to his master, Morgoth, whose story is revealed in "The Silmarillion".

Answer: Ganon

Link is the protagonist of the "Legend of Zelda" video game series. He is often portrayed as a young boy who is destined to be a hero. Zelda is a supporting (and also the titular) character, and she is portrayed to be of age with Link. She is an unlucky princess who often ends up being up kidnapped by Ganon, although in the latest games she has a more active role. Ganon is the antagonist in most of the "Legend of Zelda" games.

Batman, who was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, is one of the oldest superheroes, making his debut in "Detective Comics #27" (1939). Batman is a darker character than most superheroes, especially the idealistic Superman, and his opponents seem to be correspondingly darker.

The Joker ("Batman #1", 1940), the Riddler ("Detective Comics #140", 1948) and Two-Face ("Detective Comics #66", 1942) are usually portrayed to a lesser or greater extent as insane. The Penguin, on the other hand, is usually depicted as a sane underworld boss. Even though he is Batman's opponent, the Dark Knight sometimes tolerates his lesser criminal activities in exchange for information.

"Harry Potter" is a series of seven books by J.K. Rowling. In the first book, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" (or Sorcerer's Stone in the USA), the young hero finds out about his wizardly heritage and begins his clash with Lord Voldemort, the Dark wizard who killed his parents. Voldemort (birth name Tom Marvolo Riddle) has a small role until the second half of the series, and his origins remain unexplained until the penultimate book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". Throughout the series, apart from extraordinary skill and intellect, Voldemort displays intense megalomania and a great fear of death, which dictated his actions for most of his life.

He is often referred to as 'You-Know-Who' or 'He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named'. 'Master of Death' is a title given to anyone who becomes the master of all three of the Deathly Hallows, which only Harry Potter managed to do.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is a TV series that ran from 1997 to 2003. At the beginning of the show, Buffy (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar) is a high school student who just moved with her mom to Sunnydale. As the fabled Slayer, Buffy has to fight against vampires and other demonic creatures.

The Master (played by Mark Metcalf) is the antagonist of the first season. He is an ancient vampire with hypnotic powers, who is prophesied to kill the Slayer and destroy humanity. Even though the Master is killed at the end of the first season, Metcalf reprised his role (mostly for flashback scenes) several times in the next seasons.

Carnage is a character who has his roots in Venom, another enemy of Spider-Man. Venom is an alien life form that requires a host in order to live. After trying to fuse with (and being rejected by) Spider-Man, Venom sought out other hosts and shared its hatred of Spider-Man with them.

While one of its hosts (Eddie Brock) was in prison, Venom returned to him and fused once again, but left behind its offspring. Brock's cellmate, Cletus Kasady, was a convicted serial killer with an unfathomable taste for cruelty.

The new parasite fused with Kasady, and so Carnage was created. He is one of the newest opponents of Spider-Man, as he made his first appearance in "The Amazing Spider-Man #344" (1991) as Kasady, and in "The Amazing Spider-Man #360" (1992) as Carnage.
