Blanche Devereaux, played by Rue McClanahan, is the traditional man-hungry Southern belle. Several episodes of the show refer to her Southern upbringing on a plantation outside of Atlanta. She had a pronounced southern accent and her called her parents Big Daddy and Big Mommy. "The Golden Girls" was set in Florida, not Georgia, and several of Blanche's relatives visited from time to time.

Set in rural Georgia, "The Color Purple" is a 1982 novel by Alice Walker. Her son, Boolie, refuses to allow her to continue driving as she as a danger on the road. The Werthans a white family from Atlanta. Boolie hires an African-American man, Hoke Coleburn, to be his mother's chauffer. The two initially do not get along as their difference are far too great to overcome in that time period. However as the years pass, they grow closer as Miss Daisy teaches Hoke to read. Eventually, Miss Daisy suffers from dementia and severe memory issues but always fondly remembers Hoke.

Although "Driving Miss Daisy" originated as a play for the stage, it is most famous for the 1989 film adaptation starring Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman.

George P. Burdell is a fictional student at Georgia Tech created as a practical joke by Ed Smith, a real student. Smith had received two applications for the school and sent in the fake one with Burdell's name. Burdell was accepted and Smith and his friends continued the ruse by doing all of Burdell's classwork. Since then, Burdell has become a legendary icon of the school and has an entire fake history about him.

He received a letterman jacket for playing football. He apparently served in World War II and flew missions over Europe. He got married in 1958 to Ramona Cartwright, a fictional student at Agnes Scott University. A school store was named after him. In 1995, he was in the orchestra for the production of "Jesus Christ Superstar". He served on the Board of Directors of Mad Magazine for over twelve years. He even got a shout out from President Obama in 2013.

Bo and Luke Duke are cousins played by John Schneider and Tom Wopat, respectively. They are constantly finding trouble while driving around in their car, the General Lee. Daisy Duke, Catherine Bach, is the very attractive cousin known for wearing the denim shorts that are now called Daisy Dukes. Denver Pyle plays their Uncle Jesse, whom they see as a wise old man.

They all live in fictional Hazzard County, Georgia which is run by Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best).

"Designing Women" was a 1980s and 90s sitcom featuring a group of women who worked in a design firm. Dixie Carter played the lead character, Julia Sugarbaker. Annie Potts played Mary Jo. Jean Smart portrayed Charlene and Delta Burke portrayed Suzanne.

Much of the focus of each episode involved their love lives and other problems. The title is a pun. The women work in a design firm but the phrase "to have designs" means to pursue someone sexually which the titular women were often doing.

However, Martin (Logan Miller) is the local bully and blackmails Simon into setting him up with his best friend Abby (Alexandra Shipp). Abby declines Martin's advances and he outs Simon to the school. Simon is humiliated and is forced to navigate life outed.

She has many lovers and men she desires including Ashley Wilkes and Rhett Butler. As the Civil War dawns, Scarlett's wealthy and privileged lifestyle is challenged and she is forced to grow up in many ways.
