Answer: Paul Orndorff

Back before "Wrestlemania" came long and the WWF entered the realm of Pay Per View events, the monthly card at Madison Square Garden was where it was at. The hottest ticket in town from the 1960s right through the mid 1980s The Garden was often referred to by Gorilla Monsoon as "The Mecca" for Professional Wrestling. On February 20, 1984 Hulk Hogan fought Paul Orndorff in his very first WWF Title defense at Madison Square Garden. Orndorff would become a pesky challenger to Hogan over the next few years.
2. One of Hogan's earliest feuds was against an old rival from his AWA days and the two had many bloody matches. In fact one match was so bloody it was called "The Minneapolis Massacre". Who was this swaggering southerner?

Answer: "Dr. D" David Schultz

One of Hulk Hogan's earliest threats to The WWF Heavyweight Title was his old AWA nemesis David Schultz. Hogan and Schultz had feuded in the AWA when Hogan turned face and dumped "Luscious" John Valiant as his manager. The disgraced Valiant then brought in the nasty tempered "Dr D" as his new protege.

In the spring of 1984 Schultz and Hulk continued their feud in a very bloody series of bouts. Perhaps the bloodiest was called "The Minneapolis Massacre" in June 1984, which ironically took place in the AWA's backyard.

In the early summer of 1985 Randy Savage made his much anticipated WWF debut and immediately staked his claim for the WWF Heavyweight Title held by Hogan. As 1985 came to a close Savage, after dominating the competition, began his long awaited series of matches against Hulk Hogan.

In December 1985 and again in January 1986 "Macho Man" was able to best Hogan via count out and many felt "The Hulkster" had met his match. In their third match at MSG in February 1986 Hogan defeated Savage, now The WWF Intercontinental Champion, in a "Lumberjack Match".
5. In early 1987, the eventual battle between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant began to take shape. The feud actually grew hotter from a war of words between two other WWF personalities. Who were they?

Answer: Jesse Ventura and Roddy Piper

In January 1987, the WWF chose to honor Hulk Hogan for his three years as WWF Heavyweight Champion. They also paid homage to Andre the Giant for being undefeated in his fifteen year career, Andre's trophy was considerably smaller. Both ceremonies occurred on the famed "Piper's Pit" and the third week the ever controversial color commentator Jesse Ventura showed up to stir the pot.

After commenting that Andre was slighted he challenged Piper to produce Hogan the following week and he promised to deliver The Giant.

The next week history was made as Andre arrived with Bobby Heenan and made his infamous heel turn and challenged Hogan to a match at "Wrestlemania III".
6. On November 26, 1987, the very first "Survivor Series" took place with Andre the Giant and WWF Champion Hulk Hogan captaining teams in the main event. Which one of Hogan's teammates was the first one eliminated on their team?

The annual WWF November Pay Per View "The Survivor Series" made its debut in November 1987 and the novel concept was warmly welcomed. In the final match Andre the Giant lead a team which consisted of Rick Rude, One Man Gang, Butch Reed and King Kong Bundy. On the opposing side Hulk Hogan was partnered with Paul Orndorff, Ken Patera, Bam Bam Bigelow and Don Muraco.

After Reed was bested from the match the former Olympian and former Intercontinental Champion Patera was pinned by the gargantuan One Man Gang.

In the end the night belonged to Andre as he was the sole survivor of the match.
7. In an October 1988 segment of "The Brother Love" show, Hogan, now the former WWF Champion, was brutally attacked by a newcomer hoping to make a name. Who was this man?

Answer: The Big Boss Man

In the three years of its existence "The Brother Love" show served as a launching pad of sorts where feuds where started and angles began. It was in October 1988 when the late Ray Traylor aka The Big Boss Man brutally attacked Hulk Hogan. After spraying mace in his face, the former prison guard handcuffed Hulk to a ringside barrier and repeatedly hit him with his nightstick.

This sparked a brief rivalry which Hogan eventually won but it served its purpose as The Big Boss Man was now over as a vicious heel.
8. In the spring of 1990, Hulk Hogan took on a protege of sorts who frequently was his tag team partner that year. In fact when Hogan was injured by The Earthquake this man took up his cause. Who was this?

Answer: Tugboat

In early 1990, Fred Ottman, the real life brother in law of Dusty Rhodes, was brought to the WWF as the Maritime character Tugboat. In order to get him over with the fans the powers that be made him Hulk Hogan's buddy much like Hillbilly Jim had been several years prior.

When Hogan was injured by The Earthquake and missed several months of action, Tugboat took up the fight. When Hulk briefly considered "retirement" Tugboat lead a fan backed campaign of letters which resulted in Hogan's return.

Answer: Ric Flair

In the summer of 1991 "Nature Boy" Ric Flair made his long awaited WWF arrival and immediately raised the ire of WWF Champion Hulk Hogan by calling himself "The Real Worlds Champion." However instead of Flair, Hogan faced the macabre Undertaker at "The Survivor Series" on November 27, 1991.

It was Flair's interference which helped The Undertaker secure the win and the WWF Heavyweight Title. It would not be until 1994 in WCW that Flair and Hogan wrestled for a World Title in a high profile Pay Per View Match.
10. In early 1993, Hulk Hogan returned to aide his longtime friend Brutus Beefcake in his feud with Money Inc. What where the duo of Hogan and Beefcake called?

Answer: The Mega Maniacs

In early 1993 on one of the very first segments of "Monday Night Raw" Brutus Beefcake made his triumphant return to the ring after two and a half years. In July 1990 Beefcake was involved in a para sailing accident which required major surgery and a long recovery. On that night in February 1993 Beefcake was attacked by Ted Dibiase and Irwin R Shyster aka Money Inc, the reigning WWF Tag Team Champions.

It was not before long that Beefcake's longtime ally Hulk Hogan entered the picture and the team of "The Mega Maniacs" was born.
