Jason is ultimately in control of the relationship, though, and allows Etrigan to roam free on one day out of the year: Halloween. (This makes sense that this is the one day, since Etrigan is a demon.)

The Eye of Azarath was the crown jewel of the Monks of Azarath, Azarath being Raven's home planet. She used its magical powers in the "Raven: Blood Ties" trilogy to summon a shadow sword from her heart to help Gryphon defeat the third issue's evil villain. It is the other way around; they are after Etrigan, not Raven. They turn out to be demon hunters, and think Raven is a hostage of Etrigan. They "rescue" her and attempt to capture Etrigan so they can sell his horns for money.

The demon hunters use advanced weapontry to trap Etrigan in an energy cage. One of them zaps Raven with an advanced stun gun to erase her memory and free her from the demon's influence, prompting Etrigan to say,

The man then carries Raven out of the restaurant, prompting Etrigan to say,
"For a lesser offense than abducting my date,

In all the times the bad guys have done what they've done, nobody they've restrained has ever laughed before. Raven's laugh is an especially sinister one, not to mention that those who are restrained rarely laugh, if ever.

The Disjunctor is supposed to destroy the bonds that hold a demon's soul to its vessel and banish that soul back to the Underworld, destroying the vessel in the process. However, it has never been used on a demon of Etrigan's power before, and only causes Etrigan mild discomfort.

After the Disjunctor fails to destroy Etrigan, Etrigan basically just goes to town on the bad guys and their weapons. The only thing that stops him from killing any of them is Raven's request.
