Randy Savage was accompanied by his manager, Miss Elizabeth, and Ted DiBiase was accompanied by both his manager Virgil and Andre the Giant. Andre and Virgil kept interfering in the match, and Savage sent Elizabeth away from the ring, presumably to get her out of harm's way. But, much to the fans delight, Elizabeth emerged with Hulk Hogan and evened up the sides. With everything equal now, Savage was able to hit his "Flying Elbow" and get the pinfall. "Macho Man" Randy Savage was now the new WWE Heavyweight Champion.
