The basilisk is Slytherin's monster that lives in the Chamber of Secrets. If you look straight into the basilisk's eyes you suffer instant death, however if you look at it through something or reflected off of something, you'll only be Petrified.

Answer: Inferi

Inferi guarded the locket Horcrux in the lake where Tom Riddle tortured two of his fellow orphans, though the Horcrux that Harry and Dumbledore got was fake.

9. What type of dog is Fang?

Answer: a boarhound

This is said a lot in the books when describing Fang. There is not really a breed known as a boarhound; instead the term can be used for any large breed that has historically been used to hunt boar.

10. At about what age does a unicorn turn gold?

Answer: it is born that way

Two close-to-new-born unicorns that Hagrid shows in his Care of Magical Creatures class are gold, they will turn silver when they are about two, they grow a horn when they are about four, and they turn pure white when they are about seven.
