Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This 'Mr Men' character came from a place where "trees manage to grow apples and oranges at the same time!" and where "flowers get up and go for a walk!" Which one of the four characters lived in a place like that?

Answer: Mr Clever

Indeed "Mr Clever was quite the cleverest person ever."

Mr Clever was number 37 of the 2014 published edition of the series.
2. This 'Mr Men' character came to life through the imagination of a little boy called Jack. One day at school Jack heard this Mr Men character say "I'm going off on an adventure." He added "would you like to come with me?" Jack replied, "Oh, yes please". Which character was Jack conversing with?

Answer: Mr Daydream

Yes Jack did go on his adventure with Mr Daydream, first flying on an enormous bird, then to the jungle followed by meeting both an elephant and then a crocodile. Many other adventures followed but when Jack was woken from his daydream by his history teacher, it was easy to say that "Daydreaming is more fun than history!"

Mr Daydream was number 13 of the 2014 published edition of the series.
3. This 'Mr Men' character was a "funny sort of fellow"; his house had an upside down door and an upside down chimney and even upside down curtains. Who are we looking for - his life was "extraordinary"?

Answer: Mr Topsy-Turvy

It was said that "everything about him was either upside down, or inside out, or back to front - topsy turvy in fact."

Mr Topsy- Turvy was number nine of the 2014 published edition of the series.
4. Simply, this character read other people's letters or looked through the keyhole of a locked door. It went without saying which of the 'Mr Men' this character was.

Answer: Mr Nosey

Mr Nosey was simply a nosey parker (English slang term for being a bit...nosey) and loved to read other people's newspapers on the train or just peer through your window to see what was going on.

Mr Nosey was number four of the 2014 published edition of the series.
5. This character lived in Tiddletown; any idea who?

Answer: Mr Nosey

Yes, Tiddletown was the town of the nosey parker. He lived in a very tall thin house. He was so nosey that the townsfolk had a meeting about him. Mr Chips the carpenter, Mrs Washer from the laundry and Mr Brush the painter all came up with a plan to stop Mr Nosey from being nosey.

When he got nosey he ended up with paint, a clothes peg and a wooden fence on his nose; in the end it worked and Mr Nosey was no longer looking into other people's business.
6. Which one of the characters came face to face with a really hungry crocodile only to be saved by a huge bird?

Answer: Mr Daydream

Well of course you met the bird and the crocodile when you met Jack from one of the previous blurbs, but remember don't worry it was all a bit of a dream so no one got hurt.
7. One of our 'Mr Men' played tennis with an elephant and could see worms driving cars, but which one of our foursome do we need to select?

Answer: Mr Clever

Indeed worms in Cleverland could drive cars, and of course everyone knows elephants play tennis.
8. Now this 'Mr Men' character created such a fuss he made the taxi driver hit a traffic light and wore socks on his hands; have you any idea who it could have been?

Answer: Mr Topsy-Turvy

This is a character who walks up and down escalators in the opposite direction causing people to crash. He also is responsible for making everyone talk like him - back to front, or "Morning good". Can you think of something to say that is topsy turvy?
9. Which two 'Mr Men' were orange and wore hats?

Answer: Mr Clever and Mr Topsy-Turvy

Mr Clever was orange but wore a green top hat and round spectacles.
Mr Topsy-Turvy was also orange but wore a yellow bowler hat upside down on his head whilst holding a walking cane...upside down.
Mr Nosey was entirely green with a very long nose.
Mr Daydream was sky blue and shaped like a fluffy cloud.
10. Of these four 'Mr Men', which one was the eldest?

Answer: Mr Nosey

When the 2014 edition of the 48 Mr Men were printed the eldest member of the four was Mr Nosey who was drawn and published in 1971, making him 43 that year. Mr Topsy-Turvy was a year younger but slightly older than Mr Daydream. Mr Clever was the baby of the four, being created in 1978 and celebrating his 36th Mr Men birthday.
