Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This 'Mr Men' book written by Roger Hargreaves was the only one to have the first three pages devoted to this phrase: "on and on and on"; which one of the characters could you attribute this phrase to?

Answer: Mr Chatterbox

Indeed Mr Chatterbox never stopped chatting, talking, gossiping or just plain old waffling on and on and on, a bit like my mother in law! (Don't tell her I said that).

Mr Chatterbox was number 20 of the 2014 published edition of the series.
2. This character does not own the first few pages of his story, in fact Mr Happy tends to dominate proceedings. Mr Happy comes across which character sitting in a tree crying?

Answer: Mr Nobody

Mr Happy was on his way to tea at Little Miss Sunshine's house when walking past a tree something wet hit him on the head "Who, are you?" he called out. "Nobody" said Mr Nobody.

Mr Nobody was number 47 of the 2014 published edition of the series.
3. This 'Mr Men' character was so aware of everything that was bad that he actually forgot to enjoy himself. No matter the weather, no matter the time, no matter whatever was going on, he would feel the worst of things. Which one of the names provided could it have been?

Answer: Mr Worry

Yes, poor Mr Worry: "if it rained, he worried that his roof was going to leak" in addition "if it didn't rain, he worried that all the plants in his garden were going to die". You could say he was a real worry with just about anything.

Mr Worry was number 32 of the 2014 published edition of the series.
4. Who would live in a house with a bent chimney pot, a broken window and a terribly messy front lawn?

Answer: Mr Clumsy

Mr Clumsy woke on a lovely sunny day to the sound of his alarm clock. Can you guess what happened when he tried to turn it off? Yes, he knocked to the floor - his third clock that week!

Mr Clumsy was number 28 of the 2014 published edition of the series.
5. This character was so liked that in his book he was visited by Mr Bump, Mr Noisy, Mr Greedy, and a wizard (he appears in numerous 'Mr Men' books) because they thought he needed support after a disastrous shopping trip. Do you know who?

Answer: Mr Worry

After he got home from his shopping trip, when Mr Worry "discovered that he hadn't left anything behind, and that nothing had fallen out of his basket on the way home, he worried that he'd bought too much". Mr Worry had it bad!
6. Which character lived in a box shaped house?

Answer: Mr Chatterbox

The postman and Mr Bowler, the hat shop owner, both got together to try and stop their days being ruined by the incessant chatter of Mr Chatterbox. One day Mr Bowler gave Mr Chatterbox a magic hat that grew when Mr Chatterbox talked to much, eventually engulfing the chatter under the hat. Only when the chatter was stopped did the hat grow back to normal.
7. Who had to drink a big bottle of yellow magic juice made by the wizard in order to get life back on track?

Answer: Mr Nobody

Mr Nobody was just that, nobody; he got so upset by being a nobody that the wizard, with the help of Mr Happy, decided to make a potion that would bring Mr Nobody to life, and colour. "Everybody's a somebody" said Mr Happy to Mr Nobody - or was he now Mr Somebody? We may never know.
8. Which of the 'Mr Men' had a pair of red shoes with untied laces?

Answer: Mr Clumsy

Mr Clumsy was a messy kind of guy - scruffy hair, scruffy moustache and shoes that were never laced up properly.
9. Which character wore a green bowler hat and a pair of blue and white shoes, which looked a bit like bowling shoes?

Answer: Mr Chatterbox

Mr Chatterbox was a pink arch shaped character and had a huge smile on his face.
Mr Worry was blue, circular and had a round red nose below some serious worry lines.
Mr Nobody was see-through, round and then yellow once the potion worked, similar in appearance to Mr Happy.
Finally, Mr Clumsy was green with a longish round body, really scruffy black hair and moustache and of course those shoes.
10. Of the four characters, which one was the youngest, drawn and printed in 2010?

Answer: Mr Nobody

1976 saw the birth of Mr Chatterbox followed in 1978 with Mr Clumsy and Mr Worry. Mr Nobody was a recent addition, which, of course, Roger Hargreaves did not produce as he died in 1988. His son Adam continued the series.
