Answer: Pharaoh

Pharaoh was a pretty stubborn individual! He had made all God's people slaves and forced them to build his kingdom. God's people cried out and God sent Moses to tell Pharaoh, "Let my people go!" God sent plagues of many kings but Pharaoh did not listen until he lost his firstborn son to death.

Answer: Saul

Saul at first was very humble, which means he didn't want people to praise him. When the people crowned him king, Saul was hiding. God had to show the prophet where he was. However, after Saul became king he became very bad. He became so prideful he disobeyed the prophet.

Answer: David

After God had said goodbye to King Saul, he chose David instead. Saul had been very strong, handsome, and popular on the outside, but he did not have a heart that pleased God. David was just a shepherd boy. His brothers, like Saul, had things that made them look like an ideal king to the prophet Samuel, but God chose David because David loved God.

Answer: Solomon

Solomon became king when he was very young. His father, David, had been a very good king and Solomon was unsure if he could lead the people as David did. God appeared to Solomon in a dream and told him he could have anything he wanted. Solomon asked for wisdom, the knowledge to rule the people. God was so pleased he made Solomon the wisest man of all.

He also gave Solomon what he did not ask for, such as money, wives, and peace.

Answer: Rehoboam

Respect your elders! When Solomon died, his son Rehoboam became king. The people asked Rehoboam to give them less work and make things easier. The elders told him this was a good idea. However Rehoboam's friends told him to make the people work harder than his father had. Rehoboam listened to his friends and was very cruel to the people.

The people left and Rehoboam lost half his kingdom.

Answer: Ahab

Ahab had an evil wife Jezebel who wanted everyone to follow Baal, a false god. Elijah told them it would not rain for three years. At the end of three years he had a contest with Ahab and they agreed that the god who answered by fire was the true God of Israel. God answered Elijah's prayer and burnt up the altar and sacrifice he had made. Israel knew Elijah's God was the true God.

Answer: Joash

Joash's grandmother tried to kill all the princes in the land. However Joash was saved and raised in the temple. When he was seven years old, the priests brought him out and declared him king. When his grandmother heard the trumpets she tried to stop it, but the priests had her taken away and Joash became the right king.

Darius made a law that no one could pray to anyone but him after his evil advisors asked him to. The law could not be changed. When Daniel was found praying, they threw him in the lions' den. However God shut the lions' mouths and when King Darius found out Daniel lived, he threw the evil advisors in the lions' den instead.

Answer: Herod

When the wise men were looking for little Jesus, they came to Herod to ask directions. However Jesus was not born in the palace as the wise men expected. King Herod had never heard of Jesus, but he did not want someone to take his crown. He told the wise men to tell him when they found Jesus and sent them on their way. Secretly though, he planned to kill Jesus. An angel saved the day and warned Joseph and Mary to take Jesus to a safe place in Egypt, but Herod killed all the other children in anger.

Answer: Agrippa

Paul almost persuaded Agrippa to be a Christian by giving his testimony of how Jesus had appeared to him. Paul told King Agrippa about all Jesus had brought him through and that he wished Agrippa could know Jesus as he did. Agrippa did not become a Christian, but he sent Paul to Rome, where Paul hoped to preach to Caesar.
