Pearl is the younger sister. Jodie is outrageous but Pearl thinks Jodie is wonderful. Pearl is the more quiet type when Jodie is more chatty.

Young Bernie and Big Alf are the removal men. After hearing their names, the sisters nicknamed each other Young Pearl and Big Jodie. When Young Bernie made kissing noises at Jodie, Pearl immediately stopped liking him.

3. What is the name of the new boarding school that Pearl and Jodie go to?

Answer: Melchester College

The new school is called Melchester College. Jodie and Pearl's mum is the Food and Beverage Manager (cook) and their dad is the Site Manager (caretaker). When Pearl and Jodie see the school, Pearl is thrilled to see it has towers.

They met Mr Wilberforce during the holidays, and had dinner with him when they moved in. Mr Jed is the gardener; even though she knows her parents would detest the mere idea, Jodie still liked him for a while.

Jodie first thought that Mr Wilberforce was the gardener because she had already seen him in the gardens and he'd given her raspberries. Later she met Jed, the real gardener.

Jodie fell from the tower room and died. The whole school attended the funeral, even Mrs Wilberforce who had lost function of her two legs in the very same tower.
