Question 1 of 10
1. As we wake up in the Dark Forest, a ragged tortoiseshell she-cat catches our eye. Her white patches are so pale you can see through them. Who is this cat, who trained an unwitting Crookedstar? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Shortly after fleeing the foul she-cat, we run into an enormous brown tabby tom with wide shoulders and glinting amber eyes. We seem to recognize him, perhaps from nursery stories of what happens to bad kits. Who is this cat, perhaps one of the Dark Forest's most fearsome and infamous denizens? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. After running as fast as a WindClan cat from the last cat, we come across a large, mottled gray and white tom, who sits close to the StarClan and Dark Forest border. He pricks his ears as he catches a glimpse of a white she-cat in StarClan, but she disappears as quickly as she came. Who is this tom, father of Firestar's first deputy? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. We slink away from the border to find ourselves near a sluggish river with no signs of fish nor a way to cross it. On the muddy banks of this river we find another large tabby tom. This one, however, has ice-blue eyes and a white belly. He paces the bank, glaring into the muddy depths of the river. Who is this half-Clan son of Tigerstar? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. As we move along through the Dark Forest, we come across a huddle of cats who have overcome the punishment of walking alone. We can catch snippets of their conversation, which centers around a white and silver tabby she-cat who was apprenticed to Hawkfrost before the Great Battle. They seem to be a bit confused about whether or not she stood with the Dark Forest when the time came.

True or false: She did indeed fight for the Dark Forest.

Question 6 of 10
6. Next, the cats discuss a tortoiseshell and white she-cat who originally joined the Dark Forest out of neglect instead of out of a desire to further her skills as a warrior. They lament that she would have made a fine member of the Dark Forest had she not turned against them in the final battle. Who are they discussing? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. The cats' discussion turns next to a brown tom who they praise as a true Dark Forest warrior. According to the band of cats, he was killed in a training session by Thistleclaw, and remained in the Dark Forest for the rest of his existence. Which WindClan tom is this? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. The subject of WindClan brings up the talk of Breezepelt, who fought in the Great Battle. These cats, once again, are unsure if he fought for the Dark Forest or the Clans. Where did his loyalties lie? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. We finally tear our attention away from the knot of cats to a sleek, dark gray tabby tom who slinks among the trees, with yellow eyes darting around suspiciously. Who is this prominent character from Firestar's first days in ThunderClan? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Finally, we make our way to the StarClan border, where we know we'll be safe. On our way, we skirt around a clearing where a massive, scarred, dark tabby tom lies grooming his matted fur. His tail is bent in the middle, and his eyes glint amber. Who is this fearsome cat, who led the Dark Forest forces in the Great Battle? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As we wake up in the Dark Forest, a ragged tortoiseshell she-cat catches our eye. Her white patches are so pale you can see through them. Who is this cat, who trained an unwitting Crookedstar?

Answer: Mapleshade

*MAJOR SPOILERS FOR "CROOKEDSTAR'S PROMISE"!*

Mapleshade, a ThunderClan warrior, fell in love with a RiverClan warrior named Appledusk. Her kits were recognized to be Appledusk's, and ThunderClan drove her out. When she tried to cross the river with her kits, they drowned, and Appledusk blamed Mapleshade for their deaths. Mapleshade swore revenge on Appledusk's entire family line, which eventually led to Crookedstar.
Erin Hunter has confirmed that there will be a novella about Mapleshade called "Mapleshade's Vengeance."

Answer: Tigerstar

**MAJOR SPOILERS FOR "THE DARKEST HOUR"!**

After becoming leader of ShadowClan, Tigerstar fostered an alliance between RiverClan and ShadowClan, offering joint leadership with Leopardstar. He called his new Clan TigerClan. Leopardstar, blinded by glory and by her love for Tigerstar (Erin Hunter confirmed she was in love with Tigerstar), accepted the offer. Little did she know this would lead to the death of her deputy and the near destruction of the forest. Tigerstar soon moved to invite the leader of BloodClan, a Clan in Twolegplace, into the forest. However, when the time came for BloodClan to fight alongside TigerClan, the BloodClan leader, Scourge, killed Tigerstar with one fatal blow.

Answer: Thistleclaw

**MAJOR SPOILERS FOR "BLUESTAR'S PROPHECY"!**

Thistleclaw. Unarguably a brave, fearsome, and bloodthirsty warrior, though his fathering skills were lacking. His mate, Snowfur, was killed on the Thunderpath when his son, Whitekit (later Whitestorm) was still a young kit. Bluefur (later Bluestar) had developed a rivalry with her sister's mate early on, which was only strengthened by Thistleclaw's habit of teaching Whitekit battle moves before he was even an apprentice. Thistleclaw was given Tigerpaw (later Tigerclaw) as an apprentice.

Answer: Hawkfrost

**MAJOR SPOILERS FOR "RETURN TO THE CLANS" AND "SUNSET"**

Hawkfrost, the son of Sasha, a former kittypet, and Tigerstar, was given to RiverClan by his mother after the death of his brother Tadpole in a flooded Twoleg nest. He and his sister, Mothwing, grew up in RiverClan. It wasn't until he became a warrior that his father began to walk in his dreams, mentoring Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost in fierce battle training and plotting to come to power in ThunderClan and RiverClan, respectively. But when Hawkfrost trapped Firestar in a fox trap and ordered Brambleclaw to kill his leader, Brambleclaw killed his half-brother instead, sending Hawkfrost straight to the Dark Forest.

Answer: False

**MAJOR MAJOR SPOILERS FOR "OMEN OF THE STARS"!**

Did you catch who this cat was? None other than Ivypool, Dovewing's sister. She was first approached by Hawkfrost when she was a young apprentice, under the impression that she'd become one of the greatest warriors. When she found out about the true intent of the Dark Forest, she first vowed to never return, but later consented to be a spy for Lionblaze and Jayfeather, much to Dovewing's dismay. She pretended to be loyal until the final battle, when she stood with the Clans.

Answer: Blossomfall

**MAJOR SPOILERS FOR "OMEN OF THE STARS"!**

After her littermate, Briarlight, broke her spine, Millie neglected her other kits and instead constantly fussed over her disabled daughter. Blossomfall admitted to Ivypool in "Sign of the Moon" that she knew that the Dark Forest was where cats who were not accepted into StarClan went, but she figured that she wouldn't go to StarClan either because she hated Briarlight for being injured.
7. The cats' discussion turns next to a brown tom who they praise as a true Dark Forest warrior. According to the band of cats, he was killed in a training session by Thistleclaw, and remained in the Dark Forest for the rest of his existence. Which WindClan tom is this?

Answer: Antpelt

**SPOILERS FOR "THE FORGOTTEN WARRIOR"!**

Antpelt was a relatively unknown cat in the series, listed only in the Allegiances until "Night Whispers", where he appears for the first time in a training session. Later, in "The Forgotten Warrior," Ivypool was ordered to kill Antpelt's spirit to prove her loyalty to the Dark Forest. He was a tough opponent, but Ivypool managed to kill him, and his death haunted her since.
8. The subject of WindClan brings up the talk of Breezepelt, who fought in the Great Battle. These cats, once again, are unsure if he fought for the Dark Forest or the Clans. Where did his loyalties lie?

Answer: The Dark Forest

**MAJOR SPOILERS FOR "THE LAST HOPE"!**

While he attacked a member of his own Clan and tried to kill Lionblaze, he apparently remained in WindClan, as he is listed in the Allegiances as WindClan in "Bramblestar's Storm". When Ivypool protested that he couldn't side with the Dark Forest, he counters, saying it's what they had been training for all along.
9. We finally tear our attention away from the knot of cats to a sleek, dark gray tabby tom who slinks among the trees, with yellow eyes darting around suspiciously. Who is this prominent character from Firestar's first days in ThunderClan?

Answer: Darkstripe

**SPOILERS FOR "FOREST OF SECRETS" AND "THE DARKEST HOUR" ONWARDS!**

Though he declined Tigerclaw's offer of glory in banishment from ThunderClan, he soon proved where is true loyalties lay when he attempted to poison a young Sorrelkit with deathberries after she witnessed him meeting with Blackfoot at the ShadowClan and ThunderClan border. During the battle between BloodClan and LionClan, he reappeared, only to try to kill Firestar. Graystripe killed Darkstripe, sending him to the Dark Forest.

Answer: Brokenstar

**MAJOR SPOILERS FOR "THE LAST HOPE" ONWARDS!**

Brokenstar. The shunned kit of Yellowfang and Raggedstar, he grew up with a cold foster mother, Lizardstripe. He was respected and feared in the Dark Forest, and led their forces until he tried to attack the ThunderClan nursery. When he did so, his very own mother snapped his neck, putting an end to the bloodthirsty tyrant.
