Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "I am a magician and my name is Coriakin. I met children from that other world when they visited my island on the 'Dawn Treader'. Where do I live?"

Answer: the island of the Dufflepuds

Coriakin was the wizard who ruled over the Dufflepuds. He had been a star, but for some reason was unable to continue to shine in the night sky and had been banished to this island to the east of Narnia.
2. What was the name of the place where Prince Caspian danced with the fawns just before his army was gathered together?

Answer: Dancing Lawn

Prince Caspian was to meet his whole army the very next night at the same place, and it was from here that he moved to Aslan's How to fight the army of his Uncle Miraz.
3. "I live like a princess, and my favourite things are parties and clothes. My friend, Aravis, was more like a boy and could not understand my lifestyle. She ran away to the North, and became the Queen of Archenland - my! What parties and fun we had when we visited each other then - even though she was still a tomboy! Where do I live?"

Answer: Calormen

Lasaraleen helped Aravis when she and the two Horses (Bree ad Hwin) were stuck in Tashbaan after Shasha had been taken by the Narnians (he was mistaken for Prince Corin). Although very scared, she arranged for Aravis and the Horses to escape the city through the palace grounds.
4. Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy remembered this place as a ford, but when they were called into Narnia to help Prince Caspian, the river had been bridged over. Aslan, however, destroyed the bridge and so released the river god from his chains. What was the name of this place?

Answer: Beruna

It had been known as the Ford of Beruna, but under the kingship of the Telmarines it became the Bridge of Beruna. While Edmund and Peter helped Prince Caspian, Susan and Lucy were with Aslan and saw the bridge destroyed and it returned to being the Ford of Beruna once again.
5. "My wife and I helped the three children to travel towards the Stone Table to meet Aslan, but firstly we offered them a good meal at our home. But where was our home?"

Answer: Beaversdam

While the children were eating supper Edmund snuck out and made his way to the Witch's castle. The other three children went with Mr and Mrs Beaver to meet Aslan, meeting Father Christmas on the way. The presents he would give them would appear in later books as they were magical gifts.
6. Nobody lives in this place, but it was very important to the history of Narnia. It was here that Jadis threw the iron bar at Aslan as he created the world, and it was here that the four Kings and Queens of the Golden Age vanished at the end of their reign.

Answer: Lantern Waste

The iron bar Jadis threw at Aslan grew into the lamp post which Lucy found when she first entered Narnia from the wardrobe, and it was while she was hunting with her brothers and sister many Narnian years later that they stumbled into the wardrobe again, to return to England as children once more.
7. "I became known as the White Witch, but my real name was Jadis. Before I came to Narnia I visited London in that other world, and before that I was Queen of another world. What was the name of my Capital City?"

Answer: Charn

Digory and Polly had found a large hall of what appeared to be mannequins when they found themselves in that silent and dead world. After Digory rang the bell, Jadis woke up and there began the adventures which led to the introduction of the Witch to the new land of Narnia, and to the planting of the tree which would provide the apple, the core of which in turn would grow to a tree from which a wardrobe would be made . . .
8. What accommodation did King Tirian offer the two children who came to help him in his battle against the false Aslan and the Calormenes?

Answer: a garrison tower

It was not a nice place to stay, but it was relatively safe for the short period of time King Tirian, Jewel, Poggin, Eustace and Jill were there. The King was quietly pleased that the children were well-mannered and did not complain of the basic conditions.
9. When Aravis told Shasta and Bree the story of how she came to be running away to the North, she mentioned the area in which she had grown up, as her father was the lord of that province. Was that place called Calavar?

Answer: Yes

This fact is mentioned at the beginning of chapter 3 of 'The Horse and His Boy' - 'My father is the lord of the province of Calavar and is one who has the right of standing on his feet in his shoes before the face of the Tisroc himself.'
10. "When I met children from that other land I was a prisoner of the Lady of the Green Kirtle. They saved me and my fellows when they killed the witch. What is my real home?"

Answer: Bism

"My name is Golg and I invited Prince Rilian, Puddleglum, Scrubb and Pole to visit my homeland - the wonderful deep lands where one can pick fresh diamonds and drink their juice. They were unable to come, though, because had they taken me up on my offer they would not have been able to return to the Overworld."
