Answer: Charlotte's Web
Wilbur is a young pig that is being raised for food. The heroine spider Charlotte spins messages in her web that convince people to let Wilbur live, messages like "Some Pig", "Terrific", and "Humble". "Charlotte's Web" was authored by E.B. White in 1952. It is recognized as one of the best selling children's books.

Published in 1962, "The Snowy Day" won the important Caldecott Medal in 1963. The story follows Peter as he explores his neighborhood after the first snow fall of Winter. Author Ezra Keats also illustrated "The Snowy Day" and other of his works.

This is a sad, but also strangely uplifting, story that follows Boy as he grows from a young lad to an old man, and what the Tree gives him.
5. Kit Kittredge

Young Margaret "Kit" Kittredge is the central character in a series of books set during the U.S. Great Depression, first authored by Valerie Tripp in 1998. The books are accompanied by a line of dolls depicting the main characters, and have also spawned movies and video games.

Jim Hawkins first appeared in the 1883 novel "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson. Since then, the character and story have been adapted to scores of movies, radio, and television shows.
