According to the jingle, "Oscar Mayer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A". Though bologna can also be spelled "baloney", along with a few other variations, "bologna" is what is used in the jingle. Oscar Mayer, a German meat maker, moved to the US in 1859, and began selling meat such as bratwurst and liverwurst in 1900. The Weinermobile, first built in 1936, began touring the entire United States, and by 2010, only seven Weinermobiles had been built.

Beriberi came from a Sinhalese (Sri Lanka) phrase which means "I cannot, I cannot". It was discovered by Dutch physician Christiaan Eijkman and for that he shared the 1929 Nobel Prize for Medicine with Frederick Hopkins. There is also a deficiency of B1 or thiamine in the brain which is called Korsakoff's syndrome.

The Clydesdale breed originated around 300 years ago, on farms near Clydesdale, Scotland. They were used to pull heavy loads. August Anheuser Busch, Sr. first used the Budweiser Clydesdale horses in public on April 7, 1933. A team of eight Clydesdale geldings were hitched to a red, white and gold beer wagon, and used to transport the first shipment of post-Prohibition beer from the St. Louis brewery.
