"Judas" was given quite a few positive reviews from critics, but did not perform nearly as well as her other singles. "Born This Way" did break some records, though, becoming the fastest-selling single of iTunes history (at the time).

The song "Judas" is about a woman falling in love with someone who betrays her. She keeps falling in love with him, but he keeps betraying her. The name "Judas" is taken from the Bible. Judas Iscariot is well-known from the Bible as the man who betrayed Jesus.

Jeff Buckley's estranged father, musician Tim Buckley, also died at a young age. Buckley is noted for his beautiful voice and an unbelievable vocal range that served him well in many different musical genres, including rock and folk music. Buckley's debut album "Grace" (1994) contained his memorable cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah". It also featured songs of his own composition, including "Eternal Life" and, a favorite of mine, "Dream Brother". Jeff Buckley died of accidental drowning at the age of 30 in 1997. One additional studio album, incomplete at the time of his death, was released posthumously in 1998, entitled "Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk".

It originated in India, China and Japan as a decorative pottery coating. Often a gold design was painted on top of the black as decoration.
