Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Actor George Clooney had a pet named Max, who died in 2006. Did Max say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Oink

Max was a pot-bellied pig. He lived with George Clooney in his home in Los Angeles. Clooney bought Max in 1988 as a gift for Kelly Preston, his girlfriend at the time. Max made several cameos in interviews, and weighed close to 300 pounds.
2. Dolly was the first mammal to be cloned. Did she say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Baaa

Dolly was a sheep who was born on July 5, 1996 and died on February 14, 2003. She was named after country singer Dolly Parton, because the cell used to clone her was taken from a mammary gland. Dolly's remains can be seen at the Royal Museum of Scotland.
3. Grady was stuck in a silo in Yukon, Oklahoma in 1949. Did she say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Moo

Grady was a Hereford cow. She gave birth to a stillborn calf next to a small storage silo on a farm. After being treated by a veterinarian and untied, she ran into a small opening in the silo. She got stuck in the silo, which wasn't torn down because it was too valuable. She was eventually removed from the silo with the use of halters, and lived until 1961.
4. The Tamworth Two were a pair of animals who became famous for escaping while being unloaded from a horse-drawn wagon. Did they say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Oink

The Tamworth Two were two pigs who were renamed Butch and Sundance after the American outlaws, because they avoided discovery for over a week following their escape. They escaped by squeezing through a fence and swimming across a river. The pigs were originally supposed to be slaughtered, but were taken to an animal sanctuary in England after the Daily Mail newspaper bought the pigs from the owner.
5. Another animal that was famous for evading capture was named Shrek. Shrek avoided being caught for an impressive six years! Did Shrek say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Baaa

Shrek, the Merino sheep, was named after the ogre from the 2001 movie "Shrek". He hid from potential captors. Merinos are typically shorn every year, so by the time he was captured in 2004, his fleece weighed about 60 pounds. Due to his prolonged evasion, Shrek had the opportunity to meet the New Zealand Prime Minister in 2004.
6. Huey, Dewey, and Louie are three fictional animals appearing in many cartoons and comic books published by the Walt Disney Company. Do they say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Quack

These three ducks are the nephews of Donald Duck, and are identical triplets. They first appeared in a comic strip in 1937. Originally, the colors of their caps were random. Later, Huey was always dressed in red, Dewey in blue, and Louie in green.
7. Grace, Mrs. Calloway, and Maggie are three animals from Disney's "Home on the Range" (2004). Did they say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Moo

In the movie, these three are dairy cows who embark on a quest to save their farm from foreclosure. Grace is voiced by Jennifer Tilly, Mrs. Calloway is voiced by Judi Dench, and Roseanne Barr provides the voice for Maggie. "Home on the Range" is the 45th movie in the "Walt Disney Animated Classics" series.
8. Squealer, Napoleon, and Snowball are all animals from George Orwell's 1945 novel "Animal Farm". Did they say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Oink

These three pigs masterminded a revolt against the owner of the farm in which they lived. They all represented Soviet leaders at the time. By the end of the novel, Napoleon had complete power over the farm. He and his fellow pigs learned to walk upright and act like the humans that they overthrew.
9. Daffy is a cartoon animal created by Warner Brothers. Does he say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Quack

Daffy Duck made his first appearance in the short film "Porky's Duck Hunt" (1937). He is a regular character in both the "Looney Tunes" and "Merrie Melodies" series. Mel Blanc originally voiced Daffy Duck, from 1937 to 1989.
10. Lambert is a lion in a 1951 Disney animated short film. Lambert does not think he is a lion. Does Lambert think he is supposed to say moo, quack, oink, or baaa?

Answer: Baaa

At the beginning of the film, a stork mistakenly leaves Lambert with a flock of sheep. Lambert thinks he is a sheep and is ostracized by his peers. When a wolf comes to attack the flock, Lambert utilizes his prowess as a lion to defend his herd.
