2. When is the Thai New Year?

Answer: mid-April

The Thai New Year is celebrated in mid-April because in Southeast Asia the transition of the Sun in the constellation of Aries takes place at this time of the year. As such, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos use this event to start a new year.
3. Why do people float kratongs (floaters) during the Loy Kratong festival?

Many Thai people believe in the Goddess of Water, and float kratongs to pay respect to her. They also hope that all the bad things in their life will float away.
4. Where do people usually celebrate Wai Kru?

Answer: stupas out of sand
