Friends since childhood, Jacques (Jean-Marc Barr) and Enzo (Jean Reno) have become avid participants in the sport of free diving. Jacques's father died at sea when Jacques was a young boy, and Jacques has followed his father in pursuit of dangerous activities at sea. Jacques has developed an astounding ability to control his heart rate and breathing rate underwater, making his vital signs mimic those of dolphins. Enzo convinces Jacques to compete with him in a diving contest to see who can dive deeper without the aid of scuba gear.
