Dorchester is a neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.. Puritans from Dorchester, England (located in County Dorset) settled here and named it so.

Answer: George Carlin

George Carlin was born George Denis Patrick Carlin in New York City in 1937, and died in 2008. He was a stand-up comedic legend, as well as an author and actor. Carlin garnered five Grammy Awards for his comedy albums. He is perhaps best known for his 1972, "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" list, and observational comedy.

Cher was born in 1946, She became an American singer, actor, songwriter, producer, director, and has earned a Grammy, an Oscar, and an Emmy, among other awards. She was just 17 when she became well known in the duo Sonny and Cher. In 1965, their song, "I Got You Babe" became a sensation. The two went on to host their own variety show in the '70s. Cher is the only female solo artist to reach the Top Ten of the Billboard Hot 100 in each of the previous four decades.

The soda was IBC Root Beer. IBC stands for Independent Breweries Company. Prohibition was in effect, and companies were looking for drink alternatives. The company was founded the Griesediecks out of St. Louis, Missouri. Root beer found a market as a legal beverage during the era of Prohibition. The company was only in existence on its own until the late 1930s, and over the years has had different owners. Today, IBC is organized within the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.

Marietta, Ohio, was established on April 7, 1788, as the first permanent settlement of the Northwest Territory. Marietta is located where the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers meet.

Marie Antoinette was known as the 'Teen Queen'. She had no official role as Queen of France and no legitimate political power - her main job was to produce a male heir to continue her husband's royal line. She was wed to the young king of France, Louis XVI. Over time, the King's economic policies failed, Marie Antoinette failed to produce an heir, and things ended up not so well for them both.

The film in which Ms. Taylor received the $1 million contract was "Cleopatra". The screenplay was adapted from the book written by Carlo Mario Franzero. Also appearing in the movie were Richard Burton and Roddy McDowall. The film was about the life and problems of Cleopatra VII, the young Queen of Egypt, who tried her best to resist imperial Rome. "Cleopatra" garnered four Oscars.
9. What American city built the first subway in the U.S. in 1897?

Answer: Boston

The Tremont Street Subway was the first active subway in the United States. Work on the subway system began at the northeast corner of the Boston Common, where workers, known as "sandhogs," used picks and shovels to dig out what would become the Park Street station. Due to the density of homes in the neighborhoods, the tunnel entrances had to cut directly through the lower floors and basements of some buildings.

Answer: Matthias

After Judas' death, Matthias (whose name means "Gift of God") was chosen to become the twelfth apostle. Peter told the assembly that Judas had to be replaced in Acts, Chapter 1. Justus and Matthias were the two men nominated to replace Judas, and Matthias was eventually chosen. There is very little mention of Matthias in the Bible.
