This kilogram prototype has long been used since 1889. This cyclinder has a diameter and height of 39 mm.

Answer: 10-22-38 ASTORIA

It is actually Otto Kornei, co-physicist of Carlson, who wrote the words in india ink on a glass microscope slide. These characters stand for the date (October 22, 1938) and the place (Astoria, Queens, New York) of the breakthrough invention.
