The bootlace worm is a marine creature. It is a ribbon worm. It can be found near the coasts of Britain and it mostly grows up to 5 metres (16.5 feet). Some bootlace worms have even grown up to 30 metres (100 feet) and in Scotland in 1864, a bootlace worm was found. This one measured more than 55 metres (180 feet). It is the longest worm and the longest animal ever found.

It is located in southern Asia, in northwestern India and eastern Pakistan, between the Indus and Sutlej river valleys on the west and the Aravalli Range on the east.

It is a desolate region of sand dunes, broken rocks, and poor vegetation. It receives a yearly average rainfall of less than 10 inches (25 centimetres). And in the morning, it is so hot, and this makes even the vultures fly at 3000-4000 feet high above the desert.
