10. Okay, this is it. Take a look at your answers, and a historical figure should pop into your head, the subject of museum exhibits, college courses, movies, and more. Who is it?

Answer: Cleopatra

Born in 69 B.C., Cleopatra ascended to the throne of EGYPT at age 18 alongside her little brother Ptolemy, whose advisors had her driven into exile. With the help of Julius CAESAR of Rome, she was able to defeat her brother and become QUEEN of THE NILE in 47 B.C. Caesar was later assassinated by Roman senators, and Cleopatra then formed an alliance with Mark ANTHONY. (Actually, the traditional spelling is "Antony".) Their affair greatly displeased the Romans, particularly Caesar's heir, Octavian. Octavian declared war on Egypt, and Cleopatra fled to Alexandria. With defeat inevitable, Cleopatra committed SUICIDE by the bite of a SNAKE (an asp) at age 39, although many historians believe she ingested another type of poison. Nearly two thousand years later, a movie would be made based on her reign starring ELIZABETH TAYLOR. (She was also played by Theda Bara, Claudette Colbert, and Vivien Leigh in earlier, better received movies.) Cleopatra's death marked the end of her family's dynasty, which had lasted for centuries, but historians have kept her memory alive. Thanks for playing!
