Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the movie "Clue" (based on the board game), which of these characters was portrayed by Christopher Lloyd?

Answer: Professor Plum

In the 1985 film, Wadsworth was played by Tim Curry, Col. Mustard by Martin Mull, and Mr. Green by Michael McKean. That same year, Lloyd appeared in his most well known role, inventor Dr. Emmett Brown in "Back to the Future".
2. When a person suffers from angina, which part of the body is not functioning properly?

Answer: Heart

Angina is caused by the muscles of the heart not receiving enough oxygen (via the blood) for the work they are performing. This is because the blood vessels which supply the heart muscles with oxygen have become narrowed. Common causes are smoking or a diet high in cholesterol. The main symptom is chest pains.
3. Which of these "Peanuts" characters almost always wears her brunette hair in a pony tail or a bun?

Answer: Violet

Violet's hair is the same color as Lucy's, but the hair is almost always up. Unlike Lucy, who seems to enjoy Charlie Brown's company for teasing purposes, Violet does nothing but insult him and seems to harbor genuine contempt. She is usually only around to tell Charlie Brown when he has messed up, or to remind Charlie Brown that she didn't send him a card or invite him to a party.

She is a bit of a snob for someone who wears the same dress all the time.
4. Which of these gems is the birthstone for the month of February?

Answer: Amethyst

The name Amethyst comes from the ancient mythological girl who was turned into the stone by Artemis (a.k.a. Diana) to protect her from the wrath of Dionysus, the god of wine and celebration.
5. On "Will & Grace", at which of these stores did Jack McFarlane become employed, working for an aggressive Parker Posey?

Answer: Barney's

Parker's character only becomes nice to Jack when she thinks it will get her a date with Will. When she finds out Will is not interested, Jack is reduced to squirting handcream, the lowliest position in the store.
6. Which of these authors has a daughter Rebecca who also writes?

Answer: Alice Walker

Alice gave birth to Rebecca in 1969 at the age of twenty-five. Rebecca's father is a lawyer named Mel Leventhal. She wrote a memoir in 2000 called "Black, White, and Jewish" about her mixed heritage, and played the role of March Cunningham in the 1998 film, "Primary Colors". Rebecca's godmother is noted feminist writer Gloria Steinem.
7. Which of these is NOT associated with the assassination of U.S. president John F. Kennedy?

Answer: Rain

The Kennedys had taken a short plane ride from the Fort Worth airport to Love Field for their ride through Dallas. The date was November 22, 1963. The motorcade was filmed by Abraham Zapruder, who was inadvertently thrust into the spotlight following the assassination. Forecasters had predicted cooler weather (which is the reason Jackie wore her wool Chanel suit), but the weather was sunny.

There was no rain.
8. Which of these is a main ingredient in the Greek dish, moussaka?

Answer: eggplant

Moussaka is a layered dish with or without meat. It is made with eggplant, potatoes, garlic, and a variety of fragrant and flavorful herbs and spices.
9. Which of these Teletubbies was denounced by Jerry Falwell in 1999 as being "a role model for the gay community" because of the triangle on its head?

Answer: Tinky-Winky

The main "evidence" Falwell used to support his claim, in addition to the triangle, was Tinky's penchant for carrying a handbag. (Never mind that the characters are genderless.) This was the first in a growing trend of religious figures attempting to paint children's TV characters as having a gay agenda.

In 2004, Rev. James Dobson of Focus on the Family made a similar claim about SpongeBob SquarePants.
10. Now that you have completed this colorful quiz, take a look at your answers. All of them have a common attribute associated with them. Once you figure it out, fill in the appropriate adjective below.

Answer: purple

All of the answers in this quiz should have reminded you of PURPLE. EGGPLANT and VIOLET are shades of purple. The token for PROF. PLUM in the game of Clue is purple. Children's television characters TINKY-WINKY and BARNEY are purple. The Purple HEART is a military award.

The birthstone, AMETHYST, is purple. There was a 1984 movie entitled "PURPLE RAIN", and the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for literature was awarded for "The Color Purple", by ALICE WALKER. Thanks for playing!
