Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 2010, which of the following was NOT used as a Crayola crayon color?

Answer: Tree Trunk

The Crayola brand of crayons seem to have some very interesting names at times. A few other not-so-common names are: Asparagus, Atomic Tangerine, Cotton Candy, Denim, Neon Carrot, and Purple Mountain's Majesty.
2. There are cars with some odd names out there. Which of the following was NOT a car name used by Dodge, Isuzu or Plymouth by the early 21st century?

Answer: Apple

Although Apple was not a car name, Cherry was a make by Datsun. The Neon is a car by Dodge. The Forward is by Isuzu, and Fury is made by Plymouth.
3. Former US Vice President Dan Quayle misspelled a word at a school in Trenton, New Jersey back in 15 June 1992. What was the word?

Answer: Potato

Quayle was visiting Trenton to help spotlight the city's Weed and Seed program, which provided anti-drug education to grade school-children. While at the school he was hustled off to another classroom for a staged spelling bee. The kid wrote 'potato' to which Quayle told him he was missing an 'e' at the end.
4. What is the difference between annual and perennial flowers?

Answer: Annuals live for one season; perennials live for three or more.

An annual typically grows from seed, and dies in just one growing season. Annuals usually need to be replanted each spring. Most annuals bloom continuously from spring through fall.

A perennial flower lives for three or more seasons. It may or may not be mature enough to bloom the first year from seed. Most perennials bloom for only a short period, such as a few weeks, once a year.
5. Not only do Crayola crayons come in many colors, but some crayons also have scents. By 2010, which of the following was NOT used as a name for one of the "Crayola Magic Scent" crayons?

Answer: Pickles

A few other Magic Scent names were: Lumber, Shampoo, Smoke, and New Car. The Magic Scent crayons are not to be confused with the Silly Scents crayons. Silly Scents featured scents such as: Alien Armpit, Big Foot Feet, Princess Perfume, and Smashed Pumpkin.
6. Which animal has fingerprints that are almost impossible to tell apart from a human fingerprint?

Answer: Koala

It is the koala's finger pattern, shape and size of the ridges that almost make it impossible to tell them apart from a human's. Under the microscope, the ridges look exactly the same. The main difference is that the entire human palm and fingers are covered with ridges, while the koala only has ridges on its fingertips and some parts of the palm.
7. What are two body parts on humans that never stop "growing" throughout their lives?

Answer: Ears and nose

That's right, the cartilage in your ears and nose never stops growing! It just grows at a rate that is so slow, it's not something you notice daily.

10. Does a person have more bones as an adult than when he or she was a baby?
