Andrew Jackson was born in the Waxhaws Region that straddles the two Carolinas, and he always claimed South Carolina as his birth state. Andrew Johnson was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, while James Polk was born in unincorporated Mecklenburg County in North Carolina.

The Opry holds the record for oldest running program in the early 21st century. Music and the Spoken Word, however, is the longest continuous running; it began in 1929.

He died during the construction and is in a crypt in the Capitol Building. He also designed three grave memorials while in Nashville, including one for stonecutter John Kane who worked on the Capital. The general assembly honored his wish to be entombed in his last work.

Seating 165,000 fans, Bristol is one of the largest arenas in America. The track switched from pavement to concrete in 1992. Its high banks make it a very fast and short track.
