A thesaurus is a book of synonyms and related words. It derives from a Greek word meaning treasure or treasury. On retirement from being an English physician, Peter Mark Roget, compiled a list of English words and phrases in 1852, which is still in use today.
A stegosaurus was a dinosaur with an armour of body plates while the triceratops had three horns on its head. The brontosaurus had a distinctive long neck and a long tail.

Robert Falcon Scott (1868-1912) was born in Devonport, Devon, England. In January, 1912, he led an expedition to the South Pole. He was devastated that he arrived a month after Norwegian, Roald Amundsen. Eight months later a search party found their diaries and their bodies, and Scott was posthumously knighted for his services towards Antarctic exploration.

Bridget Fonda starred in 'Single White Female' (1992) and is the niece of Jane Fonda. 'On Golden Pond' (1981) she appeared with her father, Henry Fonda, who portrayed an aging retired professor.

In this family drama, they actually played father and daughter. Henry won a Best Actor Oscar for 'On Golden Pond' before dying from heart trouble, a few months later.

Otto von Bismarck (1815-98) had no respect for laws and found them totally worthless. Between 1862-90 he was the prime minister of Prussia and under his leadership he defeated both France and Austria thus creating a united Germany. He was nicknamed the Iron Chancellor.

Cecil Scott Forester (1899-1966) was born in Cairo, Egypt. He created the character of Captain Horatio Hornblower. His novel, 'The African Queen' (1951), was made into a movie starring Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart which was filmed in the Belgian Congo. I just hope you didn't pick the real person of Admiral Horatio Nelson. If you did, it's kismet for you.

He was that passionate about his protests that he was jailed (1922-24) for conspiracy. Alas, in 1948, he was assassinated in Delhi, by a Hindu fanatic, called Nathuram Godse.

Sir Arthur Charles Clarke was born 16 Dec, 1917, in Minehead, Somerset, England. During World War Two he was a radar instructor and worked in scientific research before writing science fiction.
