Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Music: What is odd about the album "The Cow Goes Moog?"

Answer: The title's play on words includes a mispronunciation.

The name 'Moog' is pronounced 'mo-gue'(rhymes with Vogue), not 'moooo-g.' The title assumes the pronunciation of 'moooo-g,' so it is incorrect.
2. Shopping: What Canadian store's inhouse brand is Truly?

Answer: Zellers

Zellers is a department store of a certain higher quality then Wal Mart. Sears has everything, The Bay mostly has clothes and Jennifer's of Nova Scotia has souvenirs.
3. Movies: Who played Spinner in the Danny DeVito movie "Death to Smoochy"?

Answer: Michael Rispoli

Henry Rollins auditioned for the part of Spinner but was turned down. Tim MacMenamin plays a character called Danny and John Ciarca plays the autograph man.
4. Cereal: What cereal had to be pulled from the market when the food coloring turned excrement a bad color?

Answer: Frankenberry

Frankenberry turned feces pink. Corn Fetti used a crystalline coating for sugar on the outside that would cut your mouth. Sugar Corn Pops became Corn Pops and Boo Berry, well, I don't know about Boo Berry.
5. Urban Legends: What is quite kooky about a report urging the government to "Ban Dihydrogen Monoxide"?

Answer: Dihydrogen monoxide is plain water.

Yes, dihydrogen monoxide is simply water. A kid in California won a science fair on his report about the legend.
6. Canadiana: Which of the following is not an actual town/county/city/area in Newfoundland and Labrador?

Answer: Chester

Chester is actually a town in Nova Scotia! Come By Chance, Quidi Vidi and Stephenville are all towns in Newfoundland and Labrador, and so are Tickle Harbor, Cape Broyle, Cape Spear and Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
7. Literature: CineManga is a type of comic that incorporates which of the following?

Answer: Scenes from movies or TV shows into comic panels

Movies and TV shows to get the CineManga touch include "Spy Kids 2," "Lizzie McGuire" and "That's So Raven".
8. Electronics: Peter Tork used what synthesizer keyboard on the Monkees' 2001 tour?

Answer: Korg Triton

The Korg Triton is an unprogrammable synthesizer with lots of great synth sounds. Peter used it for organ, piano and harpsichord exclusively. Dave Alexander and Aviva Maloney also played Korg Triton synthesizers.
9. TV: Who is the TV geek on the show "Beat the Geeks"?

Answer: Paul Goebel

Andy Zax was the Music geek. He was replaced by Michael Farmer late into the second season. Mark Edward Hueck is the Movie geek and Blaine Capatch is the second season host.
10. Computer Games: The game "Where's the Blanket Charlie Brown?" was produced by what software company?

Answer: Tivola

Tivola is a small software company. The game is in 2D animation. The other three companies have a reputation for decent 3D animation. That's it for this quiz. Hope you enjoyed it!
