Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How to play this quiz: Read the descriptions in the question, and then decide from the multiple choices given which scenario fits the description in the question. QUESTION ONE: "One hotel room. Unwise access to a mini bar. A difficult to eat burger. And my daughter with a video camera. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?"

Answer: David Hasselhoff's daughter videos her father and puts it on YouTube

In 2007, David Hasselhoff's daughter, Taylor Ann, filmed him whilst he was intoxicated and trying to eat a hamburger. She was heard on the video asking him when he was going to stop doing this. She reportedly wanted to show him what he was like when he was drunk so that he might stop.

A QUOTE ABOUT VIDEO RECORDERS:
"Wouldn't it be nice if our lives were like VCRs, and we could 'fast forward' through the crummy times?" - Charles M. Schulz.
2. Sunset Boulevard. A Divine looking lady. A stuttering A-list celebrity. And the privacy of a car. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Answer: A police officer catches Hugh Grant with a prostitute in his car

Divine Brown, born Estella Marie Thompson, gained worldwide attention after her encounter with Hugh Grant in June 1995. She appeared on many TV shows including the 'Howard Stern Show'. In an interview with her in 'The Mail Online' in 2007, she told of how lucrative that night became for her, enabling her to put her two daughters through private school.

She ended the interview by saying "I love Hugh Grant. Hugh Grant put my kids through school, gave us a chance of the life we probably would've never reached. We had a chance to travel on private jets. If I can meet him and shake his hand all I would like to say is: 'Thank you. I appreciate you, and if there is anything I can do in return I would love to be a friend'."

A QUOTE ABOUT PAPARAZZI:
"Now I feel I have an unspoken deal with the paparazzi: I won't do anything publicly interesting if you agree not to follow me." - Matt Damon
3. A love-struck Scientologist. My pal Oprah. And a springy couch. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Answer: Tom Cruise becomes a point of ridicule after his appearance on the Oprah Show.

On May 23 2005, Tom Cruise famously went on the Oprah Winfrey show, and was professing his love for Katie Holmes so much so that he ended up jumping up and down on Oprah's couch.

A QUOTE ABOUT A COUCH:
"I got up one morning and couldn't find my socks, so I called Information. She said, "Hello, Information?" I said, "I can't find my socks." She said, "They're behind the couch." And they were!" - Steven Wright.
4. It's 1962. Guitar music is on the way out. We're definitely not signing them. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Answer: Decca Recording Company fail to sign 'The Beatles'

In 1962, 'The Beatles' auditioned for Decca Recording Company, who were quoted as saying "We don't like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out." Ouch. 'The Beatles' went on to be fairly successful, and sold one or two records. I think.

A QUOTE ABOUT GUITARS:
"Bicycles are almost as good as guitars for meeting girls" - Bob Weir.
5. Year 3000. A seven-foot alien with dreadlocks and rotten teeth. Aliens defeat humans in nine minutes flat. Surely that's brilliant! What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Answer: 'Battlefield Earth' became one of the biggest movie flops in history

'Battlefield Earth' was based on the novel by L Ron Hubbard, founder of the Church of Scientology. It stars John Travolta, who reportedly put millions of dollars of his own money into the film. It was widely regarded as being one of the worst movies ever made, not simply because of the film itself, but because of the feeling that the film had ulterior motives and had been made to send out subliminal messages to recruit new Scientologists.

A QUOTE ABOUT ALIENS:
"The fault in aliens is that those easiest to exploit are the hardest to assimilate." - Anonymous
6. Miss Teen USA 2007 finals. A pretty Miss South Carolina contestant. A microphone. And a little question about a map. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Answer: Caitlin Upton became best known for her inarticulate reply to why she thought a fifth of Americans couldn't locate the US on a world map

Poor Caitlin Upton. Despite now being known as the stereotypical dumb blonde, she was actually an honors student in high school, was her school's president of SkillsUSA, and was highly proficient at the game of soccer. She finished fourth in the Miss Teen USA 2007 competition.

A QUOTE ABOUT MAPS:
"War on nations change maps. War on poverty maps change." - Muhammad Ali.
7. San Diego Padres game. A small matter of a National Anthem to sing. Millions of viewers watching live. There's no need to rehearse. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Answer: Roseanne Barr is booed mercilessly as she murders the song

Roseanne Barr topped 'TIME' magazine's list of the Top Ten Worst National Anthem Renditions, declaring it "quite possibly the worst rendition of 'The Star Spangled Banner' ever. Ever." Although Roseanne was booed throughout her performance at the 1990 game, at what length do the organizers of this tradition go to ensure the person they ask to sing, CAN actually sing? Or maybe Roseanne should have just said 'no'.

Another sticking point came at the end of the song, when Roseanne spit on the floor. She said that she was trying to joke and imitate a baseball player, but unfortunately it looked like she was spitting on the flag.

QUOTE ABOUT SINGING (Well, opera really):
"Opera is when a guy gets stabbed in the back and instead of bleeding, sings." - Ed Gardner
8. British radio. A stolen telephone number. And a clever idea to make a prank call. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Answer: A prank call to Andrew Sachs goes too far and airs live on BBC Radio 2

British presenters Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand were recording a show for BBC Radio 2 on October 16, 2008. Seventy-nine year old Andrew Sachs (most famous for his role as Manuel in 'Fawlty Towers') had originally meant to be a guest on the show. For various reasons he couldn't make it, but consequently, Ross and Brand had his telephone number in their possession. During the show they decided to call Sachs, and in doing so, they got his voice mail and left a message that went too far and also made suggestive comments about Sachs' granddaughter.

After the call, they proceeded to make a number of other calls to Sachs, under the pretext of apologizing, but continued to make lewd comments and swear. The BBC allowed the segment to remain and it aired two days later.

Nearly 30,000 complaints were made, although no official complaint was made by Andrew Sachs.

Russell Brand resigned from his BBC Radio 2 show and Jonathan Ross was suspended from the BBC for six months without pay.

A QUOTE ABOUT RADIO:
"The wireless music box has no imaginable commercial value. Who would pay for a message sent to no-one in particular?" - Associates of David Sarnoff, founder of NBC, 1921.
9. Vegas. Night out with my childhood friend. Hey, is that a wedding chapel? What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Answer: Britney Spears gets a marriage and an annulment in the same week

What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay there. So Britney Spears found out when apparently a joke went too far in 2004, and a hotel bellman walked her down the aisle to wed Jason Allen Alexander.

Just 55 hours after the wedding, annulment papers were signed, and there endeth the shortest marriage in Hollywood history.

10. A live concert. A long, billowing red dress. A hairstyle so large you have to fight to see out of it. Stiletto shoes. And a staircase. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Answer: Beyonce falls over on stage

In July 2007 Beyonce was performing her song 'Ring the Alarm' on stage at a concert in Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida. Apparently, her coat's hem got caught in her shoes as she was coming down the stairs on the stage, and she fell with a bump. But ever the professional, she got straight up again and carried on as if nothing had happened.
