1. Mary Queen of Scots husband, Lord Darnley, believed she was having an affair with her secretary and had him killed. What was the name of the unfortunate secretary?

Answer: David Rizzio

James Hepburn was Mary's third husband. Henry Stuart was Darnley's birth name and Francis II of France was Mary's first husband.
David Rizzio was a Piedmontese musician who became Mary's Secretary for French Affairs. He was killed in Holyrood Palace in 1566 whilst playing for the Queen and her ladies-in-waiting.

Answer: The Royal Mile

In the 11th century, Malcolm II established his royal castle in Edinburgh. His son, David, built the Abbey at Holyrood a mile down the road, hence "The Royal Mile" It is thought to be the oldest street in Edinburgh. All the others are streets in Edinburgh city centre.

On St Andrews Day 1996, it was returned to Scotland and installed in Edinburgh Castle. The stone is shrouded in mystery and is said to have been brought originally from the Holy Land.
