The sabal palmetto tree is very abundant in many areas of South Carolina and has been associated with the state since the 19th century. Mention of this lovely tree can be found on the state flag, the state oath, and the commemorative quarter which was released in 2000. This tree can be found almost anywhere you travel in the state.

This area is open all year and offers hiking, canoeing, camping, and bird-watching are just some of the activities available here. The other three options are all located in the state of Louisiana.
