The grayling has the largest dorsal fin (in relation to the size of the fish itself) in the UK.

Answer: Mirror

Carp are not native to the UK. They were first introduced to Britain by Medieval monks as a source of food.

4. An increasingly popular and productive method of fly-fishing is known as 'nymphing'. But what is a nymph?

Answer: A water dwelling insect larva

Nymphs make up a large part of the diet of many fish. Trout, grayling, carp, even bottom dwelling tench have been fooled by artificial imitations.

A PVA bag will dissolve in water, leaving your groundbait in a neat, appetising pile. What self-repecting carp could resist?

It has been said that if you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day; if you teach him to fish, he will get drunk on a boat. However, Loch style doesn't usually involve alcohol.
