Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which Steed gives the biggest inherent Bonus?

Answer: Dragon Steed

While the Dragon Steed has an inherent +5 Bonus from the get-go, it is not affected by any enhancement cards you choose to play on it unless, of course, you happen to cheat your way through using it. This Steed is worth 1,000 Gold Pieces and is thus worth a level if you decide to sell it. He also gives +1 to Run Away.

The other Steeds have less and less inherent Bonus but can be upgraded more. Big Joe has +2, the Giant Mutant Gerbil Steed has +3, and the Mighty Warhorse has +2.
2. Although this Steed has the lowest Bonus, it can run from battle automatically. What is it?

Answer: Chicken Steed

The Chicken Steed only has a +1 Bonus and is, because of this, the weakest of the Steeds added in this expansion. The Turtle Steed, Eagle Steed, and Wolf Steed all have a +2 Bonus. Despite being the weakest Steed, the Chicken Steed, at a cost of 300 Gold, can run away from battles at any time (but is still subject to cards working against it to keep the rider in battle).

The Eagle Steed is a speedy one anyways; it has a +2 to Run Away if you use it.
3. Which Hireling card, according to its description, is WORTHLESS?

Answer: Budget Hireling

The budget Hireling isn't 100% worthless though it's well on its way there. With no Gold Value, no Bonus in battle, and no real use in play, the Budget Hireling is likely best kept in your hand for any situations that require you to discard cards to escape battle or perform an action.

Otherwise, the Budget Hireling is dead weight, especially since all other Hirelings added via this expansion have some sort of Bonus to assist with. The other three options are all Hirelings with +1 Bonuses, and thus, have more apparent worth than the Budget Hireling.
4. Both the Catboi Hireling and the Henchwench Hireling have the same Bonus.

Answer: True

While most of the Hirelings in this expansion are separated by race (ie. Elf Hireling, Orc Hireling, etc.) or class (ie. Wizard Hireling, Thief Hireling, etc.), a select few are actually split up by gender. The Catboi Hireling is only usable by female Munchkins while the Henchwench Hireling is only usable by males. Both give a +2 Bonus, but are not usable if the player is cursed into playing a different gender than their starting Munchkin. Alternatively, a Cheat card can ignore the whole issue.
5. You've been cursed! Rations Spoiled! How many Steeds must die?

Answer: One

The Rations Spoiled curse is particularly nasty when considered with the other new cards in this expansion. The curse affects everyone, but really only ends up being an issue for anyone with a Steed in play. Since the food has gone bad, one of the Steeds needs to be used to feed the players, so the person who rolls the lowest has to sacrifice theirs for the greater good, discarding it from their inventory. Don't get too attached.
6. Which of these monsters is higher than Level 1?

Answer: Grape Jelly

Grape Jelly is a Level 3 monster which, if you're a Dwarf or a Halfling, ends up being a bit tougher to beat than normal, mainly because jelly can get stuck in facial (or foot) hair. It's a couple of levels higher in value than the other choices, all of which are Level 1.

The Egg is +4 against Clerics, the Spider is +2 against female Munchkins, and so is the Plushy Skull. Despite how easy they seem to be to defeat, the Spider in particular is fairly evil; losing to one means you could die of a spider bite.
7. Which of these Monsters has the highest Level?

Answer: Katrina

Katrina, a large hurricane, is named after the obvious. At Level 20, Katrina is the most powerful monster in the expansion and, as such, won't pursue anyone lower than Level 5. Fortunately, losing to Katrina doesn't mean dying; you just lose all but your Big Items.

The Evil Eye is Level 16, the Misplacer Beast is Level 11, and Zombees are Level 2 (and undead). All of them are significantly more manageable, but none of them offer up two Levels as a reward.
8. The Duck of Earl could result in many things. Which is not something that would happen?

Answer: Lose an item

There are many different Ducks found throughout the expansions but the Duck of Earl does a lot of things. The player who uses the Duck of Earl rolls a die. If they roll a 1 or 2, they lose a level. If they roll a 6 or higher, they gain a level. If they draw 3, 4, or 5, they draw a face-up Treasure card and a face-down Door card.

The catch here is that the player using the item can use any die of their choice. Got a d20? It works.
9. If you put Press-On Wings onto a Steed, is it able to flee from any battle?

Answer: No

While the Press-On Wings will give players a +1 Bonus to running away from battle, it does not ensure complete escape. In addition to giving this, the wings give a +2 Bonus when calculating stats in battle, making it an effective Steed Enhancer just on its own.

This being said, there are more powerful Steed Enhancers available. The Fire-Breathing Bridle, for instance, gives a +3 Bonus and changes all Steed attacks into fire attacks, which can give a further bonus against certain enemies.
10. What brand of food is used to goad a Steed from another player into your own hand?

Answer: Lurina

Lurina Steed Chow is a Treasure item that can be of great use to anyone who doesn't actually have a Steed in use. If you use it, you can lure any other player's active Steed card into your own fold and, with it, any Steed Enhancers they may have in play.

This is one of many clever Steed-themed Treasures; others include Trick Riding Boots (to allow you to ride two Steeds at once), and the Mating Call, which can also lure a Steed, but gives its owner a chance at retaining it with a die roll.
