Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following is NOT a Rifts book type?

Answer: Life Book

'World Books' contain information about Rifts Earth, different countries and continents, along with what happens there. 'Conversion Books' contain information about converting other games to Rifts, including powers and hit points conversion. 'Dimension Books' contain information about other dimensions that the campaign can visit. Each of these book types contain information that lets players run different classes.
2. Who is mostly responsible for creating Rifts?

Answer: Kevin Siembieda

Mark Rein-Hagen is responsible for "Vampire: The Masquerade", Gary Gygax is responsible for "Dungeons and Dragons", and Bob Newbie is a character in "The Sims". Kevin Siembieda is also highly responsible for most of the Palladium Games roleplaying system.
3. What does MDC stand for?

Answer: Mega Damage Capacity

MDC is a super strong alloy able to handle technology above and beyond anything in the real world today. Damage done by lasers, Nuclear bombs, and rail guns are counted in MDC.
4. Which of the following is not a part of Rifts Earth?

Answer: Half-breeds

It is written clearly in Conversion Book one that there would be no Half-breeds. However, with a range of races and classes to play, there is enough variety to keep me happy.
5. What is the organization in North America that is anti-supernatural?

Answer: Coalition States

The Coalition States do not allow any of their citizens to perform magic, and are highly human supremacist. Their war against anything supernatural is comparable to the worst of genocides in human history.
6. Who is the most famous Scholar?

Answer: Erin Tarn

Erin Tarn is the respected traveller who writes books about her travels, and, in so doing, is considered an enemy of the Coalition States. Not only does the Coalition not want any of their citizens performing magic, but they want them ignorant, even to the degree of illiteracy.
7. Who rules Atlantis?

Answer: The Splugorth

The Splugorth hold Atlantis as a starting ground on taking over the Earth. Atlantis had disappeared for a long time from the Earth, but had reappeared on Rifts Earth with the coming of the Rifts. There are Atlanteans around, but they are outcasts from their own land.
8. Which of the following is true about a Juicer? (Murder Wraiths excluded)

Answer: They all lived a shortened lifespan

A side effect to becoming a Juicer is that the characters life-span is shortened to 5 years and some months. Juicers trade a normal lifespan for being immensely improved through the use of drugs. The procedure that makes them Juicers is a process that almost turns them into supermen.
9. Which of the following is not a Rifts book?

Answer: Rifts Korea

"Rifts Japan" is World Book 8, "Rifts Australia" is World Book 19, and "Rifts Canada" is World Book 20. Each World Book includes information about what happens in those lands and things you can do there.
10. In Rifts, what does P.A. stand for?

Answer: Post-Apocalypse

Time is measured in the Post Apocalyptic Calendar. For a long time, the current calender and time was lost, as humans went through a form of a dark age. When they had rebuilt their society enough, a new calender was adopted, the Post Apocalyptic calendar.
