Answer: Altbier

Albiers are a very enjoyable beer that can be hard to find at times. When you do find one, its shelf life is not that long and may not be any good because it's past its prime so make sure to check the date! Zum Uerige Altbier is a classic example of this style.

Tripels were originally brewed by Trappist monks and is generally a very strong beer. They're sneaky because in the best examples the alcohol is very well hidden. Westmalle Tripel is the epitome of a tripel and one of my all time favorite beers.

Answer: Biere de Garde

Biere de Gardes, or 'beers to keep' is one of the few original beer styles from France. They can be aged and can develop a musty flavor. One example of this style comes from a group from the French Revolution called Sans Culottes, or 'without pants.'

Traditionally, sahtis are mashed and filtered over juniper twigs and hops are optional. Though they originated in Finland, they were popular all across Scandinavia. This style of beer can be scarce but a readily available one from Finland is called Arctic Circle from Malmgardin Panimo brewery.

A geuze is a very complex beer that is really an acquired taste. As mentioned, they can be quite sour with funky flavors. Boon Oude Geuze is a great example of this quirky beer.

These beers only get better with age. These are thick, sweet beers with a dry finish that are perfect on a cold night. The easily accessible Rochefort 10 is a perfect example of this style and is my all time favorite beer.

There are English barleywines too which are a bit sweeter with more fruity flavors. Great Divide Olde Ruffian is a great example of an American barleywine.

English mild ales are nice beers that can be drunk with out too much worry of intoxication. They have a smooth biscuit like flavor and Moorhouse Black Cat is an example of the style.

Weizenbocks are very complex beers that take a while to mature. It's a very heavy beer with a blend of very pleasant flavors. Schneider Aventinus Tap 6 is the epitome of a weizenbock.
