Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Saveloy

Answer: England

Usually found in fish and chip shops, this bright red sausage is traditionally boiled.
2. Chorizo

Answer: Spain

Chorizo is seasoned with garlic, smoked paprika and salt. The paprika gives it the distinctive red colour.
3. Kielbasa

Answer: Poland

Kielbasa can be chopped and mixed with sauerkraut and shredded fresh cabbage to create bigos, a national dish.
4. Haggis

Answer: Scotland

A sheep's heart, liver and lungs are mixed with onion, oatmeal, suet and spices before being cooked in the sheep's stomach. What's not to love?
5. Sabodet

Answer: France

The sabodet is a giant sausage made out of a pig's head and skin. It is sliced before serving. It is named after its resemblance to a "sabot," a type of clog.
6. Bratwurst

Answer: Germany

There are many varieties of bratwurst. The sausage is steamed and fried, then served with curry ketchup and sprinkled with curry powder to create currywurst, a popular German fast food.
7. Mustamakkara

Answer: Finland

Made from pork, pig blood, crushed rye and flour, this sausage is traditionally eaten with lingonberry jam.
8. White pudding

Answer: Ireland

Made from pork fat or beef suet, and oatmeal, the white pudding is similar to the black pudding common in Ireland and the English North West and Midlands. White pudding is part of the traditional full Irish breakfast and black pudding is part of the full English breakfast.

As black pudding uses blood as a key ingredient, it has been classified as a superfood as it has high levels of zinc and iron, whilst the oatmeal-heavy white pudding is not classified as such.
9. Pepperoni

Answer: America

Made from a mixture of pork, beef and chili pepper, pepperoni is an American original. Asking for it in an Italian pizzeria will get you a bell pepper!
10. Glamorgan sausage

Answer: Wales

Not made from meat at all, this traditional sausage is made from caerphilly cheese, leeks and breadcrumbs. It became popular during the Second World War, when rationing restricted the meat available to each household.
