Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Gossip's worth its weight in gold," is sung by whom?

Answer: Firmin

This is sung by Firmin during "Notes". At this point, two of the opera's sopranos have met with "trouble"; first Carlotta "left" and then Christine "disappeared".
2. Who sings the line "The angel sees, the angel hears..."?

Answer: Mme. Giry

Mme. Giry sings this during "Notes", trying to get them to follow the Phantom's orders and not cast Carlotta as the lead in "Il Muto". Of course Andre and Firmin don't listen....
3. "Order your fine horses...!" is sung by which two people?

Answer: The Phantom and Christine

Christine sings this to Raoul at the end of "All I Ask of You."
The Phantom sings it tauntingly during "Down Once More" while he ties up Raoul.
4. "Christine, I love you," was sung by which two people?

Answer: Raoul and The Phantom

Raoul sings it at the end of "All I Ask of You" and The Phantom sings it at the end of "Down Once More".
5. Who sings the line "Lead me, save me from my solitude"?

Answer: The Phantom

Phantom: (soft and sort of saddened) "Say you'll share with me
One love, one lifetime
Lead me, save me from my solitude
Say you want me
With you here, beside you anywhere you go let me go too."
This line shouldn't be confused with Raoul's line "Let me lead you from your solitude."
6. "To the new chandelier!," is sung by whom?

Answer: Firmin

It's New Year's Eve, The Phantom hasn't been seen and the chandelier has been replaced... everything looks bright for the future.
7. "...this mask of death?" is sung by whom?

Answer: Raoul

Christine: "My God, who is this man"
Raoul: "My God, who is this man"
Christine: "...who hunts to kill?"
Raoul: "...this mask of death?"
8. Who sings the line "let your spirit start to soar..."?

Answer: The Phantom

Not to be confused with Christine's line "And through music my soul began to soar..."
9. "Stealing what in truth is mine," is sung by whom?

Answer: Piangi

Piangi (as Don Juan) "Furtively, we'll scoff and quaff, stealing what in truth is mine. When it's late and modesty starts to mellow with the wine."
10. Who sings the line "The trophy...from our saviors?"?

Answer: Carlotta

Carlotta sings this during "Hannibal" shortly after the new managers and new patron arrive.
