Roald Dahl was born in 1916 and died in 1990. He is well known for his many works of children's literature which include 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'Matilda' amongst others although he did also write some works aimed at adults. 'Boy' was first published in 1984 and recounts Dahl's school days ending with him starting his first job. 'Going Solo', published two years later, continued Dahl's story telling of his travels in Africa with his job and his time as a pilot in the RAF in World War II.

'A Moveable Feast' was published posthumously and focuses on Hemingway's time in Paris in the 1920s.
