Genevieve seemed 'too big' a name for her. Kate's grandmother was called Emily so that was used instead.

She calls him Troy Seymour Stratton. Candy is a work colleague of Kate's who initially does not want to keep her baby, then thinks it's a girl.

Kate kept her maiden name in professional circles. Although she still refers to herself as Kate Reddy, she is actually Mrs. Katherine Shattock.
