Answer: Olwe

Thingol's brother was Olwe. He became the leader of the Teleri after his brother's dissapearance at Nan Emloth, led most of his people to Aman and became the Prince of Alqualonde. His daughter, Earwen, married Finarfin, King Finwe's third son.

Thingol's wife was Melian. She was a Maia spirit, servant and helper of Vana and Este. She met Thingol at Nan Emloth and they fell in love with each other. They married and lived in Doriath, the Hidden Kingdom, which was protected from all enemies, with Melian's power. Thingol was the only Child of Iluvatar that was wedded to one of the Ainur, the holy spirits.

Luthien Tinuviel, Thingol and Melian's daughter, was the most beautiful creature in the whole world. She loved Beren, son of Barahir, a mortal Man from the House of Beor the Old. Together, they managed to take a Silmaril from Morgoth's Iron Crown. Finally, for Beren's love, Luthien became mortal and died.

Beren, son of Barahir, fell in love with Luthien Tinuviel, Thingol's daughter. Thingol didn't want this marriage, because Beren was a mortal Man. So, he asked him a Silmaril from Morgoth's Iron Crown as a wedding gift, believing that Beren would die trying. But Beren, with Luthien's help, managed to fulfil the task.

Answer: Doriath

Thingol's kingdom was Doriath, the Hidden Kingdom. Melian the Maia, his wife, with her magical powers, was protecting it from all enemies. After Thingol's death, Melian abandoned it and it was destroyed by Dwarves and by Feanor's sons.

Answer: He was the tallest Child of Iluvatar

Elu Thingol was the tallest Child of Iluvatar. This, is mentioned in the fifth chapter of "Quenta Silmarillion". Thingol was also very beautiful and aristocratic, with hair like grey silver and was resembling a lord of the Maiar.

Thingol asked some Dwarves to come to Doriath and create a great jewel by joining Nauglamir and the Silmaril. When they finished their work, they attempted to keep the jewel for themslelves and when Thingol tried to stop them, they killed him.

Answer: Grey

The name "Thingol", as well as the names "Singollo" and "Sindacollo" in Quenya, means "Grey-cloak". Elwe, was known as Elu Thingol, the Grey-cloak King. Perhaps, the word "Sindar", that means "the Grey Elves", comes from this name.

Answer: Teleri

Thingol and his brother Olwe, were the leaders of the Teleri, the biggest elven race. When Thingol disappeared at Nan Emloth, Olwe led most of the Teleri to Aman. They were called Falmari. But some of the Teleri remained at Beleriand, searching for Thingol. They were named Eglath, the Abandoned Elves.

Thingol's sword was named Aranruth. Its name means "King's Wrath". It was saved from the destruction of Doriath and it was the sword of the Kings of Numenor.
