1. What was the name of Turgon's first stronghold by the Sea?

Answer: Vinyamar

Near the shores of the Sea, Vinyamar was home to Turgon and his people for many years. Vinyamar was later abandoned when Turgon and his people moved to another stronghold. Gondolin was the home of Turgon and his people after they left Vinyamar. Nargothrond was the stronghold of Finrod Felagund. Menegroth was the home of King Thingol and his people in Doriath.
2. Vinyamar was located on the slopes of which Mountain?

Answer: Mount Taras

Mount Taras was located in Nevrast near the Sea. Mount Gundabad was located in the north of the Middle earth and was a goblin stronghold in later ages. Mount Fang was the mountain to the north of Orthanc. Mount Doom was where the One Ring was forged and destroyed.
3. Turgon and his people abandoned where they were and relocated to Gondolin. How many years did it take for Gondolin to be built?

Answer: 52

52 years of secret toil. Gondolin was built in the Vale of Tumladen within the Encircling Mountains. Thorondor and the Eagles kept watch over those mountains for many years, allowing Gondolin to stay hidden until the treachery of Maeglin.
4. Gondolin was a memorial to what city?

Answer: Tirion

Tirion upon Túna, which the exiled Noldor of Gondolin would never see again. Menegroth was home to Thingol and Melian in Doriath. Vinyamar was Turgon's first stronghold in Nevrast. Alqualondë was the site of the kinslaying.
5. Who was 'the white lady of the Noldor'?

Answer: Turgon's Sister

Turgon's sister was Aredhel. She was the mother of Maeglin. She was called 'the white lady of the Noldor' due to the fact that she always wore white. She was killed by her husband.
6. Only three mortals ever walked the streets of Gondolin. Two of these were father and son. Who were they?

Answer: Huor and Tuor

Huor and Húrin were brothers. Tuor was Huor's son. Tuor wed Idril, Turgon's daughther. Eärendil was their son, which made Tuor Elrond's grandfather.
7. Who was buried high above Gondolin in the Encircling Mountains?

Answer: Turgon's father

Turgon's father was Fingolfin, who fell a a fight with Morgoth. Fingolfin wounded Morgoth seven times (and then an eighth), but was unable to overcome his foe. His body was broght from Angband by Thorondor and he was laid to rest high above Gondolin.
8. Turgon was High-king of the Noldor after the fall of...?

Answer: Fingon

Fingolfin was the father of Fingon and Turgon. When Fingolfin perished, Fingon became king. After the death of Fingon, the kingship passed to Turgon. Gil-galad was the last king of the Noldor, though it is debated as to who's son he was. Finrod Felagund was never High-king.
9. Where does Turgon flee after the Fall of Gondolin

Answer: He doesn't flee

Turgon never leaves Gondolin, even though he had the chance and falls in that battle. With him perished many of the Noldor including Glorfindel and Ecthelion, who both fell while slaying balrogs.
10. Which one of Turgon's relations sailed to Valinor to enlist help from the Valar?

Answer: Turgon's grandson

Eärendil the mariner was the son of Tuor and Idril, which made him Turgon's grandson. Turgon's nephew was Gil-galad, though that relation has been questioned in other of Tolkien's writings. Turgon's son-in-law was Tuor. Turgon's great-grandsons were Elrond and Elros.
