Lula landed a job as a (really bad) filing clerk for the Vincent Plum Bail Bonding Company after Stephanie found her tied to her fire escape, and only kept the job because she could put up with Vinnie's harassment - Lula clocked Vinnie on the head the first time he made a pass at her and now he leaves her alone.

When Stephanie quit as a bounty hunter (Bond Enforcement Agent) Lula took over and was probably worse at the job than Stephanie! In 'Twelve Sharp' Lula started singing in Sally Sweet's ('The What' - named after the more famous 'The Who') band doing gigs in nursing homes and even an impromptu gig at a funeral home. Lula has never worked at the button factory.

Joe Morelli is Stephanie Plum's on-again-off-again boyfriend. Vincent Plum is the owner of the Vincent Plum Bail Bonding Company (who Lula works for as a filing clerk then bounty hunter). Benito Ramirez is a psycho boxer who likes to inflict pain. No name is ever given as to who Lula's pimp is.

Answer: Fire escape

Stephanie found Lula beaten, tortured and close to death tied to the fire escape outside her (Stephanie's) bedroom window. After being rescued from the fire escape and recovering, Lula is eventually hired as a filing clerk for the Vincent Plum Bail Bonding Company. Although she is beaten and tortured in 'One for the Money', readers don't find out about Lula's change of career (i.e. prostitute to filing clerk) until 'Two for the Dough'.
Lula used to work on a corner in Stark Street, this is where we first meet Lula in 'One for the Money'.

Answer: Bright coloured animal print spandex

Lula, a 'plus size' woman, always manages to squeeze herself into spandex, and bright-coloured, animal-print spandex seems to be the most common choice. Lula would only wear sweat pants and a hoodie or a tailored suit and jacket if she was going undercover - and why the heck would Lula do something like that? Lula wearing a RangeMan uniform of black cargo pants, black boots, black t-shirt and black equipment belt may be a possibility but it is highly unlikely that Lula would ever stick with clothing that is not spandex, bright coloured or offensive to everyone else except herself. And can you imagine Lula without her standard four-inch heels and purse?

Answer: A side of beef

Lula's no-carb diet means that she can eat as much meat as she likes - and, being Lula, she takes this literally. During the course of the book Lula eats three pounds of bacon (although she does throw a piece to some dogs who chased her back to the office from the deli because of the smell of bacon), an entire roast chicken (while waiting in the car for Stephanie to make some enquiries on a lead), and five pounds of sausages with two dozen scrambled eggs for breakfast while in Las Vegas.

In 'To the Nines' Lula also tried one of the diets where food amounts to points - this diet lasted for less than one day. Lula seemed to think that she only need count the points for her egg in her sausage and cheese sandwich, and also that vegetables count but not the fact they are served with bacon and cheese sauce. Lula could also eat the cheese and grease off a pizza, but not the base.

Answer: No shooting!

Considering Stephanie finds a thong a waste of time and only wears one on 'special occasions', she has no rule about others wearing one. Although with some of Lula's short skirts and the view when she moves or bends over, maybe Lula should be banned from wearing a thong! Lula and Stephanie both take turns driving - it just depends on which car they take. 'No donuts' would be a cardinal sin in Jersey, and Lula and Stephanie seem to spend a lot of time in the bakery (and fast food outlets in general really).

The only rule that Stephanie has to reiterate every time they are on a mission (and sometimes even when they are not) is 'No shooting' or 'No guns', but does Lula ever listen? Lula definitely has her own rules when it comes to guns and shooting, and they differ greatly from Stephanie's.

Answer: Lula naked and handcuffed to a bed

When Lula goes after FTA (failure to appear) Willie Martin (an ex-ball player who now boosts cars), she ends up naked and handcuffed to his bed. How? Willie is still hot and Lula goes back to using her skills as a prostitute instead of 'bounty huntering'.

It also turns out that Martin has taken Lula's clothes so Lula starts throwing his possessions out his apartment window onto the street after being un-cuffed by Stephanie.

Answer: Morelli's leg was broken

Morelli's leg was broken after being hit by a car outside Stiva's funeral home. He couldn't do much for himself so Stephanie asked Lula to babysit him and keep him company for a day. Together they watched TV, ate pizza and played poker. Lula won $3.85 from Morelli playing poker, although Morelli claimed he lost because he was woozy from the pain killing drugs.

Answer: Firebird

Although Lula's Firebird was blown up in 'Four to Score' (along with Stephanie's CRX), she is still driving it in later installments of the Stephanie Plum series. Whether it is the same Firebird or a different one isn't mentioned. Lula also doesn't like putting FTAs (failure to appear) in her car, especially if they are naked, bleeding, oozing body fluid, dirty, covered in Vaseline, etc... The other three cars listed are/were ones that Stephanie drove.

The CRX blew up along with Lula's Firebird in 'Four to Score', the Rollswagon was a loaner and left for junk in 'Hot Six', and the Buick is still going strong after being hit, shot at, and involved in a number of 'incidences'.

The Buick ('Big Blue') was introduced early on in the series and makes a cameo appearance in nearly every book.

The attraction starts between Lula and Tank in 'Twelve Sharp', Lula then tricks Tank into an engagement in 'Fearless Fourteen'. It seems that the engagement is short-lived, however, as by the time 'Finger Lickin' Fifteen' comes around, they are no longer engaged.

The 'between the numbers' novellas fill in the blanks between the 'numbered' series so according to my research (I haven't read that far yet!) the engagement is called off in 'Plum Spooky'.
