NERF stands for National Environmental Resource Fund, and they frequently warn the public of different global occurrences such as an endangered species or climate change. Peter Evans, our protagonist, soon realizes that ocean levels aren't rising and that the Vanuatu case is beginning to make a lot less sense.

Sanjong is very smart and is often a professional when it comes to computers. Kenner asked if he wanted to join him at his work, and Sanjong agreed to help. Often, Sanjong brings up quotes that help Evans understand the situations.

Before Morton faked his death, he told Evans to remember that "all that matters is not remote from where the Buddha sits". Kenner realizes that Morton was implying his fake remote control, and once he opened it, he found the rolled up geographic locations.

Kenner, Evans, Sarah, and Sanjong flew to Punta Arenas, Chile, and then to Antarctica to prevent a horrible event from occurring. Luckily, they found the terrorists' camp and prevented them from creating an explosion that would create the world's largest iceberg. Once the iceberg was created, NERF could state that it was a result of global warming.

Before Evans could get the DVD, he found the private investigator paralyzed in his apartment. Luckily, Evans searched around the apartment and found the DVD in his couch cushions. He played the DVD for Kenner, Sarah, and Sanjong later in the week.

At McKinley Park, Evans and the gang attempted to prevent a flash flood and large rains storm from occurring after eco-terrorists began to control lightning with rockets and many, many miles of wire. Along the way, Sarah and Evans nearly died after their SUV plunged over a muddy waterfall. Luckily, both escaped the SUV before they plummeted.

The eco-terrorists were able to attract the lightning to the group's radios, and the lightning struck Sarah. Luckily, Peter was able to save her before she died. The group wasn't successful in preventing the whole situation, but Kenner managed to get rid of three of the enemies and they were able to evacuate all of the picnickers in the park before anyone was caught in the flash flood.

Answer: Miami

The terrorists originally planned to generate a hurricane that would cover parts of Florida, but the plan fell through when NERF decided that the conditions weren't right. The group decided to head off to Gareda (which includes Resolution Bay) to prevent a tsunami which, eerily enough, was supposed to engulf California in December 2004.

Answer: Ted Bradley

After deciding he was brave enough to go to Gareda, Ted Bradley was eaten by cannibals near Resolution Bay. He is one of the only main characters in the story to die.
In the end, Morton is revealed to be alive, and when the tsunami waves arrive at California, they're only about six feet high.
