Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the device that Frank used to summon the Cenobites?

Answer: Lemarchand's Configuration

Frank heard stories of a device known as Lemarchand's Configuration, which was supposed to bring its user unheard-of pleasure. He met a man named Kircher who had the device and performed small tasks to earn the privilege to use it. Supposedly the box was such an intricate design, a man could spend half of his life trying to get it open and never succeed.

When opened, the Lemarchand's Configuration summoned the Order of the Gash, a collection of monstrous beings that provided "pleasure."
2. What was the name of the street where Frank lived, followed by Rory?

Answer: Lodovico Street

Frank preferred to travel the world and have adventures than to settle down in one place for too long. He stayed at the house number fifty-five on Lodovico Street, where he met his fate. Frank disappeared afterward and Rory moved in with his wife Julia. It had been willed to him from his grandmother.
3. Which of the following did Frank not lay out for the Cenobites?

Answer: Fingernails

When Kircher had given Frank the Lemarchand's box, he also gave him advice. By creating a sort of shrine to the Cenobites, Frank had the possibility of getting their good graces. So Frank set up an altar of sorts, which included needles, bonbons, bones, and dove's heads. He also saved five days' worth of his own urine, just in case.
4. What gave Frank hope while he was stuck in the house?

Answer: Blood

After accidentally cutting himself on a chisel, Rory's hand began to bleed profusely. He ran to Julia and asked her to look at it because the sight of his own blood made him woozy. Drops of his blood fell to the floor and when Julia returned to the room, they were gone. Later she heard Frank say the word "blood" to her and she knew she had to get him more. Frank had renewed hope when he saw that Julia was willing to help.

He had been living in torture for months when she arrived.
5. What was the name of Julia's second victim?

Answer: Patrick

Julia seduced men to come to her house. Once there, she murdered them in what she deemed the "damp room." Frank would then absorb every bit of blood and nutrients that he could. Julia never bothered to learn the name of her first victim. Patrick was the second victim and a man named Stanley Sykes was the third. Frank remarked that Patrick was "big and healthy."
6. What did Frank demand from Julia?

Answer: A radio

Julia noticed that the shades, which had previously been nailed shut, had been removed from the window. Frank told her he wanted to be out of the house and in the regular world again. He said he didn't even know that it was Autumn. After Julia killed Patrick, Frank became more humanlike but informed her that he needed more bodies, as well as a radio because he wanted to know "what was going on out there" in the outside world.
7. What saved Kirsty from her first encounter with Frank?

Answer: The device

The first time Kirsty met Frank, she resisted his advances, which made him very angry. He got a knife and began to slash at her. Kirsty eventually escaped his attack by hitting him with the Lemarchand's Configuration she found sitting on the ground.

He demanded that she give him the box, but instead Kirsty hurled it through the window. When Frank ran to the window and cried out for it, she ran out of the house. Kirsty picked up the box while walking away from the house.
8. What did Kirsty promise the Cenobites?

Answer: To bring Frank to them, alive

Kirsty passed out after her fight with Frank. She woke up in a hospital because she had sustained several cuts. A doctor gave her back what he assumed was hers: the Lemarchand's Configuration. Kirsty grew bored and toyed with the device until she unwillingly released a Cenobite.

It wanted her soul, but Kirsty quickly convinced it that she knew where Frank was, so the Cenobite agreed to take him instead of her. It told her it wanted her to "make him confess himself."
9. How did Julia die?

Answer: She was stabbed by Frank

Frank tried to kill Kirsty and had her backed up to the stairs. Julia attempted to hold Kirsty's head back so Frank could slit her throat. But when Kirsty struggled, Julia slipped over the railing. Frank didn't pull back the knife in time and accidentally stabbed her in the side. Instead of helping her, however, the monster Frank absorbed her as he had his other victims.
10. Frank posed as his brother to fool Kirsty. But how did Frank give himself away to her?

Answer: He said "Come to Daddy"

When Kirsty returned to the house with the (invisible) Cenobite, Frank was nowhere to be found. Frank's brother and Julia's husband, Rory, was in the house instead. Kirsty realized that since Frank was gone, the Cenobite was going to take her soul. But then "Rory" stared at her and said "Come to Daddy." Frank had said this earlier and she realized that he had stolen his brother's skin. Soon, she tricked Frank into "confessing" that he was not actually Rory.

The Cenobites quickly appeared and continued torturing Frank.

As Kirsty ran from the house once more, the Lemarchand's Configuration was returned to her.
