He goes by Nicholas Easter in "The Runaway Jury". His name was originally Jeff Kerr. He had it changed several times so that jury consultants wouldn't be able to link his name to other big tobacco trials in which Jeff had tried to get on the jury.
2. What is the girl's name? The girl being the one who pretended to buy Fitch out.

Answer: Marlee

It is spelled Marlee in the book. She and Nicholas come up with a plan to make the tobacco companies pay for getting Marlee's parents hooked on cigarettes. They eventually died from smoking-related diseases.

Answer: Pynex

Most of the tobacco companies had access to a large amount of money, called the Fund, used for defense in litigation.
