Answer: Our Daily Bread

Our Daily Bread is a bakery at the foot of the Our Lady of Mercy Shrine in Westerbrook, New Hampshire. Our Daily Bread is run by Mary DeAngelis, who was formerly Sister Mary Roberts. She opened Our Daily Bread after leaving her convent and hiking the Appalachian Trail; while on this hike she says Jesus appeared to her in a vision and instructed her to feed the masses.

Answer: Adam

Adam and Sage have been having an affair since they met at Sage's mother's funeral. Adam is a married funeral director, who helped Sage after she fainted after an incident at her mother's service. He also has two children, Grace and Bryan.

Answer: Shannon

Shannon and Adam are married, and Adam is having an affair with Sage, and continuously promises to leave his wife for her, "at least twice a week." Sage knows that's a lie, as Adam works at the funeral home that has been Shannon's family's business for over fifty years, and because he would never leave his twins.

Answer: Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead

Sage said that her mother would've found the mix-up funny, but her sister Pepper was furious. Sage accidentally downloaded the wrong song, as she intended to download "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", which was her mother's favorite song. After the song began playing, Sage began laughing out of panic, and fainted.

Answer: Upior

The upior is a Polish version of a vampire, and is a real folktale that exists in current Polish culture. The upiors are monsters that rise from the dead, and search for blood to sustain themselves, "as they no longer have any of their own." In Minka's story, Ania unknowingly befriends an upior, Aleksander, who bakes his own blood into the bread Ania feeds the town, as those who ingest the blood of the upior become immune to being prey to them.

Answer: Eva

Josef takes Eva everywhere with him, including to Our Daily Bread. When Sage goes to poison Josef, he asks her if she will take care of Eva. Even though Sage believes Josef is a monster, she agrees.

Answer: Shot in the face

Darija was shot and killed after she and Minka were accused of stealing money. Darija dreamed of being a dancer before she was imprisoned by the Nazis. In the camp, she almost died from an infected tooth before Minka knocked it out with a fountain pen. Darija was shot in the face in front of Minka, and Minka wrapped her body up and carried her to the cart that took the dead away.

Answer: Photographs

Minka stole photographs in order to use the blank backs of them to write her upior story while in the camp. She memorized and recited the names, "the growing deck of the dead," that were written on the backs of the photos to herself while she was imprisoned. Ania, Herschel, Gerda, Haim, Wolf, Mindla, Dworja, Izrael, Szymon, Elka, Rochl, Chaja, Eliasz, Szandla.

She said, "as long as I remembered them, then they were still here."

Answer: Monkshood

Sage baked monkshood into a roll in order to kill Josef in an inconspicuous way. Josef eats it after confessing to her that he let his brother die from choking, choosing not to save him. As Josef dies, Sage tells him that she will never, ever forgive him for what he did.

His last words to her are, "how does it end?" Referring to the upior story that Minka was sharing with him in Auschwitz. Sage replies, "like this."

Answer: Franz

Sage killed Josef believing that he was the monstrous Reiner Hartmann, when in reality he was Franz Hartmann. Franz was the kind brother, the one who took Minka into his office as his assistant, gave her food and a sweater, and listened to her upior story. Sage discovers that she has killed the wrong brother after reading Josef's hospital bracelet, which lists his blood type as B+, whereas Reiner's blood type was AB.
