quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'Twilight': After Edward rescues Bella in Port Angeles and they go to dinner, what does Bella order?

Answer: Mushroom ravioli

Edward takes Bella to dinner as he's afraid of hunting down her would-be attackers. It is at this point that Edward's secret starts to emerge.
2. 'Twilight': In the book James mentions "the one who got away." To whom is he referring?

Answer: Alice

James refers to Alice as 'the one that got away.' Carlisle created Rosalie, and it's not specified who created Victoria or Kate. Alice spent her human life in an asylum - most likely as a result of her visions - and so she doesn't remember much as, as Edward states, "she was always in the dark."
3. 'New Moon': What film does Bella go to the cinema to see on Valentine's Day?

Answer: Crosshairs

Bella goes to see 'Crosshairs' on an awkward outing with Jacob and Mike. There was meant to be a group of them going - but some dropped out and some fell ill. 'Facepunch' is the name of the film Bella goes to see with the boys in the film. Bella, in both the book and the film, deliberately avoids romantic films as she is still in pain about Edward leaving her.
4. 'New Moon': After discovering how she was created in 'Twilight', Alice digs into her human life in 'New Moon'. She finds she had a sister; what was her name?

Answer: Cynthia

Alice's sister was called Cynthia.
Mary was Alice's original human name.
Rebecca is one of Jacob Black's sisters and Renee is Bella's mother.
Cynthia is a name of Greek origin and means moon.
5. 'Eclipse': Bella buys Alice and Edward concert tickets as their graduation present. Where was the concert at?

Answer: Tacoma

She later gives the tickets to her school friends to make sure they're not in Forks on the day of the big fight. Bella tries to protect all of her friends and family and so Charlie is persuaded to spend the day and La Push with Billy to go fishing. In terms of population, Tacoma is the third largest city in Washington.
6. 'Eclipse': What does Jacob do at the very end of the book?

Answer: Transforms into a wolf and runs away

Jacob does tell Bella he loves her throughout the book and he kisses her as well; however, on the very last page he decides to run away as a wolf. He does not return until 'Breaking Dawn' and it's time for Bella's wedding. The wedding dress Bella wears in the book is supposed to date from 1918 - the year Edward became a vampire.
7. 'Breaking Dawn': What was Bella's 'something borrowed' at her wedding?

Answer: Garter

Bella's engagement ring is Edward's mothers, her dress is new and designed partly by Alice, she borrows Alice's garter from her wedding to Jasper and her parent's gave her the hair slide, which used to belong to her Grandma Swan, as a wedding gift. They changed the original paste stones to sapphires so Bella would have something blue.

It is said throughout the books that blue is Edward's favourite colour on Bella.
8. 'Breaking Dawn': At the end of the book, Alice and Jasper return with Nahuel - a hybrid (half human/half vampire) like Renesmee - what were his parents called?

Answer: Joham and Pire

Huilen is his aunt (his mother's sister), Senna and Kachiri are both part of the Amazonian coven of vampires. Garrett is a nomad and Benjamin and Amun are part of the Egyptian coven that came to bear witness that Renesmee is not an immortal child.
9. Random Selection: What is Renesmee's zodiac sign?

Answer: Virgo

Although Renesmee's birthday is not mentioned in the book, it can be worked out from Bella waking up as a vampire on her own human birthday (September 13th). The transformation from human to vampire takes three days, so Renesmee must have been born on the 10th - this makes her a Virgo; as anyone born between August 24th and September 23rd is a Virgo. Stephenie Meyer has since said that Renesmee was born on the 11th September.
10. Random Selection: What were Alice's and Jasper's human names?

Answer: Mary Alice Brandon and Jasper Whitlock

Alice's human name is revealed in 'New Moon' and Jasper's human name is revealed in 'Eclipse'.
The meanings behind the names are:
Mary: bitter (English/biblical origin)
Alice: truth/noble (possible Greek, Celtic, French, German or English origin)
Brandon: hill covered with broom or from the beacon hill (Old English origin)
Jasper: one who came bearing treasured gifts (origin n/a)
Whitlock: one who had white hair; dweller at, or near the white enclosure (origin Old English)
