During the height of the cold war, Chuck Yeager (Sam Shepard) makes history as the first pilot to break the sound barrier. A few months later the Russians launch "Sputnik" - the first orbiting satellite. As a result the US starts the Mercury project with the aim of sending a man in space as quickly as possible.

A few pilots, selected after careful consideration, begin training with the aim of being launched into space. Out of these, seven are selected who have "The Right Stuff" to form the first team of astronauts.

The 1983 film "The Right Stuff" was directed by Philip Kaufman and starred Sam Shepard, Scott Glenn, Ed Harris, Dennis Quaid and Fred Ward. Tom Wolfe's book by the same name was published in 1979.

On a street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn an Italian pizzeria owner gets into an argument with one of his customers over his "Wall of Fame" that only includes Italian celebrities. This argument adds fuel to racial tensions on an extremely hot day, and as a result a fight breaks out. The film was written and directed by Spike Lee.

The film follows the adventures of a couple in Los Angeles, Brad and Lexi, on a day when dirty bombs explode in the city. On that morning Lexi goes to work, while her out of work husband stays at home. Brad hears on the radio of the explosion and the formation of a toxic cloud, and after a vain attempt to find his wife, decides to make his home as airtight as possible. Lexi eventually returns home, only to discover that the house is completely sealed and Brad refuses to let her in.

After Lexi breaks a door panel, Brad seals off the bedroom and allows Lexi to get in. Unfortunately for him, Lexi's phone is contaminated with the virus.

In order to find out what happens next you will have to watch the film, which was written and directed by Chris Gorak, and won the Cinematography award at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2006.

Answer: Annette Bening and Julianne Moore

The film deals with two women who had babies by artificial insemination by the some donor, portrayed by Mark Ruffalo. Annette Bening made her first appearance in the film "The Great Outdoors" in 1988 and has since starred in numerous films, including "The Grifters", "Bugsy", "American Beauty", "Being Julia" and "Mrs Harris". Annette has earned awards for her appearances in "The Grifters", "American Beauty", "Being Julia" and for "The Kids are All Right". Julianne Moore has appeared in "Boogie Nights", "The End of the Affair", "An Ideal Husband", "Magnolia", "Far from Heaven", "The Hours" and "A Single Man".

She has won an Emmy for the series "As the World Turns", a Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival for "Far from Heaven", Best Actress at the Berlin Film Festival for "The Hours" and three awards for her appearance in the TV Film "Game Change". Sarah-Jessica and Kim appeared together in "Sex and the City", Jessica and Devon in "Sin City" and Madonna and Rosanna in "Desperately Seeking Susan".

The film deals with the dreams of a young man, who is trying to escape from the suffocating life of a small mining town through football. His way out is through a football scholarship to a college. After a defeat, his coach drops him from the team and later, following an attack on his house, the coach black lists him among colleges.

In the end, after a confrontation, the coach accepts that his decision to blacklist him was wrong, and offers him a full scholarship. This was one of four films by Tom Cruise released in 1983, the other three being "The Outsiders", "Losin' It" and a personal favourite of mine, "Risky Business" . Tom Hanks starred in "A League of Their Own" and Cosby and Culp starred in "I Spy".

A scientist creates a lifelike robot, in his own image, that will go on a space mission. A woman is hired to do PR for the project. As part of her job she interacts with the robot, and as a result it develops emotions and social skills. She falls in love with the robot and in the end the scientist goes on the space mission! In the film, John Malkovich played the twin role of Dr. Jeff Peters (the creator) and Ulysses (the robot), and Ann Magnuson played the female lead. John Malkovich has appeared in many films with great success.

Some of his films are "Places In The Heart", "The Killing Fields", "Dangerous Liaisons", "Being John Malkovich", "Ripley's Game" and "Red".

Nina is a clever and well endowed girlfriend of a small time crook named Johnny. Nina, in her attempt to escape from her mundane life with Johnny, has a one-night stand with Tony, an old friend of theirs. She leaves home after a violent row with Johnny and she is abducted by some criminals.

A girl named Monella helps her to escape. The two girls get into a passionate affair. The pair decide to steal Johnny's drug stash. The plan goes completely wrong and as they say "all hell breaks loose". "No Right Turn" was filmed in Copenhagen. Laura Bach, Sira Stampe, Tao Hildebrand and Lars Lippet are the stars of the film.

The film was written, directed and edited by David Noel Bourke, who was born in Limerick, Ireland, in 1970.

Stanley Windrush, fresh from university, gets a job as a blue-collar unskilled worker at his uncle's missile factory. Although he is welcomed with suspicion by shop steward Fred Kite, he is later offered lodging in his home. During an efficiency test Stanley is tricked into performing his job faster than other more experienced workers, which results in a general strike. Kite reprimands Windrush, which prompts him to cross the picket line to go back to work, for which Kite orders him out of his house.

The whole country goes on strike and so there is no option for his uncle than to negotiate with Kite. An agreement is reached but Windrush is fired due to his involvement with both sides. "I'm All Right Jack" was directed by John Boulting and featured Ian Carmichael, Terry Thomas, Richard Attenborough, Dennis Price and Margaret Rutherford.

The phrase "I'm All right Jack" means that as long as I am doing well I do not much care about anybody else.

Lester is working as a shoeshine boy at Union Station in Chicago, where he is currently living. He is well known and loved by the station staff and they take care of him and protect him. After escaping several attempts of being sent to an orphanage, he comes into a piece of good fortune.

He has an uncanny talent in picking winning race-horses from the names in the newspaper, while shining shoes. When word of this gets around his popularity surges and everybody wants to get a piece of the action. The film was directed by Lee Philips and starred Gary Colman as the shoe-shine boy, Maureen Stapleton, Norman Fell, Michael Lembeck and Lisa Eilbacher. Gary Coleman, known for his portrayal of Arnold Jackson in "Diff'rent Strokes", sadly passed away in 2010, aged 42.

Answer: Dudley Do-Right

Dudley is a Royal Canadian Mountie, Snidely is an infamous bank robber and Nell is out to see the world. Snidely robs a bank and although Dudley catches him in the act, he manages to fox him, making him believe he is doing something completely different. Prospector Kim J. Darling finds some of Snidely's stash and everybody is taken over by a gold rush.

This makes Snidely famous and he takes control of the city. Nell's father, who is on good terms with Snidely, dismisses Dudley from the Mounties. Darling trains Dudley on how to confront Snidely and his men. Dudley manages to scare them and at the same time steal Nell back from Snidely, who swears revenge on Dudley.

The film was directed by Hugh Wilson and also starred, among others, Alfred Molina, Eric Idle, Robert Prosky and Alex Rocco. "The Right Temptation" was released in 2000, "Let The Right One In" in 2008 and "Wrong Is Right" a.k.a "The Man With The Deadly Lens" in 1982.
