Dean and his friend Welles had to find a way to destroy the parasite and also avoid some evil government agents who were after him. There is another parasite, kept in a silver container, which they had to destroy before it got loose and multiplied. Charles Band directed the film. Alan J. Adler and Frank Levering wrote the story.

Michelle Williams was 15 years old when she got a part in "Species" (1995). Her part was that of the three month old character, young Sil.
