Answer: The First Cut

This film is the 2009 prequel to the 2007 original, which stars Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson. Three years before the events that took place in the first film, a serial killer arrives at the Meadow View Inn and murders a woman, while the manager and staff watch on.

They manage to catch the guy and tie him up, but are worried that if they turn him in to the police, their own sex tape operation will be uncovered. So the killer talks them into hiring him to kill guests at the inn while being videotaped, and then sell them as snuff films.

This 2010 horror/comedy is the sequel to the 2005 film, '2001 Maniacs'. This time, the cannibalistic residents of Pleasant Valley take a road trip to Iowa, where they proceed to kill and eat more unsuspecting victims. Bill Moseley and Lin Shaye star in this campy and gory film. The subtitle is an obvious play on the 1989 film, 'Field of Dreams', which stars Kevin Costner.

Answer: Freddy's Dead

'Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare' (1991), is the sixth film of the franchise, which stars Robert Englund as the notorious Freddy Krueger. Although the film title suggests that this would be the last of the 'Nightmare' films, it was followed by another sequel, as well as 2003's 'Freddy vs. Jason'.

Answer: Dead by Dawn

This 1987 campy horror comedy is the sequel to the 1981 original cult classic, 'The Evil Dead'. It is directed by Sam Raimi, and stars Bruce Campbell as the character of Ash Williams, who is once again fighting evil spirits. This sequel picks up right where the original film left off.

The subtitle, 'Dead by Dawn', comes from a scene where one of the possessed victims in the film explains to the others with him that they will be dead by dawn, due to the fact that the demons desire their lives.

Answer: Hellbound

'Hellbound: Hellraiser II" is the 1988 horror sequel to the original 'Hellraiser', which came out in 1987. The film once again stars Doug Bradley as Pinhead, the leader of the Cenobites. In this film, one of the characters named Kristy gets a message from her father stating that he is trapped in Hell and needs help.

The puzzle box is the portal to Hell, in which victims wind up meeting up with Pinhead and the other Cenobites. The 'Hellraiser' film franchise spawned eight films.

Answer: Afterlife

This is the sequel to the 2006 horror film, 'Pulse'. 'Pulse' is an American remake of the 2001 Japanese original, which is titled 'Kairo'. 'Pulse 2' is about a woman who cannot accept that she is a spirit. She is following her husband and young daughter because she is trying to get her daughter Justine to go to the afterlife with her. This sequel was followed by 'Pulse 3: Invasion'.

Answer: The Rage

'The Rage: Carrie 2' is the 1999 sequel to the original 1976 film, which stars Sissy Spacek as Carrie White. In this film, the lead character named Rachel, is Carrie's stepsister. Poor Rachel is tormented by a cruel act by her schoolmates, and gets revenge using her powers of telekinesis. Amy Irving reprises her role as Sue Snell, the lone survivor of the first film.

She is a school counselor. Mena Suvari also stars, as well as Emily Bergl as Rachel.

Answer: Jason Takes Manhattan

This 1989 sequel is the eighth film in the franchise. Yes, Jason Voorhees really does go to Manhattan. He follows the senior class of Lakeview High who are taking a class trip for graduation. This campy film has a much different vibe from the earlier films from the series.

This 1987 sequel has nothing to do with the original 'Prom Night' film, which stars Jamie Lee Curtis. In this one, bad girl Mary Lou Maloney is the victim of a practical joke gone bad, and is burned to death after being crowned prom queen. This takes place in 1957. Thirty years later, the Hell-bound spirit of Mary Lou comes back to exact revenge after it is accidently released from an old trunk containing her old prom queen cape, sash, crown and ring.

Answer: Leatherface

This film, which was released in 1990, is the second sequel to the original horror classic, 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'(1974). Actor Viggo Mortensen stars in this film. This was before he became well known, just as Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger did in the third sequel which is subtitled, 'The Next Generation'. Leatherface is the chainsaw carrying killer in all of the 'Chainsaw' flicks.
